Welcome to my practice. I have been in practice since 2007 and have been featured on ABC, NBC, and KCAL as an expert psychologist. I work primarily with men who have hit “rock bottom” and would like help getting up. These men are often in crisis when we first meet. The issues I address are typically related to unhealthy sexual behaviors, infidelity, financial recklessness, gambling, drugs/alcohol, dishonesty/lying, and relational conflicts. My therapy approach is a combination of psychoanalytic, cognitive-behavioral, and the 12-Step recovery model. I also share insight from my own painful but redemptive recovery journey.

I don't have an ideal client. I want to met people where they are at. If you've never had therapy before, it’s important to be aware we don’t start talking about the hard stuff. It can take 2-3 sessions for someone to feel comfortable enough to tell another person what they are struggling with. Therapists cannot read minds, but have studied human patterns of thoughts, feelings & actions. No one can truly know the exact consequences a person has experienced in their life. Regardless of the reason why someone is seeking therapy, there is no judgment, no criticism…just acceptance. People can heal & grow in this type of environment.

Experiencing high anxiety can be an overwhelming and all-encompassing ordeal which often leads to feelings of depression. It's like constantly living on the edge of a cliff, where every thought and action feels like a potential fall into the abyss. Your mind races with worry and fear, creating a sense of impending doom that is difficult to shake off. Physically, it can manifest as a tightness in the chest, shortness of breath, or a racing heart, making it feel like you're constantly on alert for danger. Simple tasks become monumental challenges as the anxiety grips you, making it hard to concentrate or relax.

Some of the presenting themes I work with include feeling "stuck", anxiety and rumination, difficulty with achieving goals, overwhelm, disconnection from self or others, lack of motivation, loss of independence, and loss of joy. Additionally, I treat individuals working to overcome obstacles or are just feeling "stuck." Immediate symptom reduction includes anxiety, depression, repeated patterns of behavior, obsessive & addictive behaviors, lack of focus, insecurities and confidence issues. For some clients conventional talk therapy is extremely effective. For others, a more aggressive approach which is what prompted my EMDR 5 Day Intensive program. This includes 5 consecutive days of on-going EMDR which continues to prove amazing results!
