90 minute sessions for $95 makes professional therapy affordable while giving us enough time to dig deep & make progress. (YES!!! LONGER SESSIONS, LESS MONEY!) My time is tight, so I'm only accepting a limited number of committed, full fee, private pay clients, who are ready to dig in & do the work. To learn, heal & grow a client must have trust; once that is established we will work together, side by side, towards finding the answers & becoming the person you want to be. If you are ready to do the work, I am ready to help you! Serving Washington County, locations vary, including in home, online, walk n talk & hiking in S. Utah.

My ideal client is someone who is looking to be understood and treated with the greatest of respect. When working with clients it must be a joint journey in which both will learn and grow. My belief is that you are the expert on you. I am along on the journey to help you see what you want to see and believe it to be right by your perception. I am a narrator invited by you to offer help in a non judgmental safe environment. A place you can get the support you have always looked for.

I will meet you where you are and this will be our starting point. It might seem intimidating to seek therapy, but I'm going to make sure you feel at ease and comfortable. Therapy can range from crisis intervention to prevention measures and from short-term to long-term support. Therapy is a personal journey and I truly believe the relationship is the most important aspect of positive change.

Facing challenges like depression, anxiety, and trauma can hinder our ability to authentically and fully engage with life. As a psychotherapist, my practice is grounded in trauma-informed care. I specialize in EMDR, mindfulness-based, and psychodynamic therapy. I understand that spirituality plays an important part in many people's healing; and I incorporate a holistic approach that recognizes the interconnectedness of biological, mental, and emotional well-being.

I believe that my own lived experiences have uniquely prepared me in my desire to help others. I am passionate about working with survivors of trauma. I believe each of us has within us, the ability to heal and grow from any difficulty life hands us. Sometimes we just need the guidance of a caring and competent therapist to carry us through. We all desire to feel safe, seen, and supported when we are our most vulnerable selves.

My goal is to assist you in reaching your full potential so that you are able to live your most fulfilling life. I recognize that each person is unique and there is no “one-size fits all” approach to therapy, so I use an individualized, person-centered approach in working with my clients. We will work together to navigate life’s challenges and create a collaborative treatment plan by building upon your own natural strengths and resilience. I have experience working with a variety of different therapeutic models, and I primarily utilize a cognitive behavioral or dialectical behavioral approach in my work with clients.

I offer services via telehealth, and have found success with my clients in utilizing EMDR and an IFS approach to work through traumas. I also work with “late-in-life” diagnoses of Autism. As an individual who masked her autistic traits until age 30, I have a passion for helping people understand themselves and how their brain works, and accepting the whole self. Kinstsugi is a Japanese art form of repairing broken pottery. When an item has been broken or shattered it is mended with a type of glue infused with powdered gold.

I value creating an affirming space with and for adults who have experienced chronic, complex stress and traumas, such as sexual and domestic abuse, religious trauma/LDS faith transitions, attachment and intergenerational trauma, and discrimination and oppression. The residues of these experiences can leave us stuck in perfectionism, people pleasing, depression, anxiety, and disconnection from ourselves and the world. I know the importance of finding a good fit with a therapist with whom you can feel both connected to and challenged by, who will respect you as a whole human, and who will bring a collaborative approach to therapy.

Although I believe that the goals of therapy are always first and foremost determined by my clients, I generally hold the hope for each of them that they will find more joy in life. To that end, I believe in an eclectic theoretical approach, one that draws on a wide range of perspectives including humanist/existential philosophy, Jungian psychodynamics, trauma-informed and client-centered practice, because I believe people are eclectic. Because I have both personal and professional experience with this work, I view the relationship between client and therapist as central and fundamental to the therapeutic process being effective.

I know what it is like to reach out for support. As a compassionate and experienced therapist, I understand that taking the first step towards therapy can be daunting. I approach therapy as a collaborative journey, fostering a safe and nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. My aim is to help clients gain deeper insights into themselves and their life experiences, fostering self-awareness and resilience. I believe in the powerful connection between the mind and body, integrating mindfulness practices into therapy to empower clients with effective stress management techniques.

Do you pretend everything is okay but inside your thoughts are spiraling and it feels like you’re barely holding things together? Do you exhaust yourself trying to get everything right and taking care of everyone else? The thought of saying no or someone being upset with you may leave you feeling panicked and anxious. You are probably tired of analyzing conversations and guessing what people think about you. You don't want to be in survival mode anymore. You want to feel more in control and feel okay being you. You want to know you'll be okay even when things are hard. You're in the right place.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
