"Often when you think you're at the end of something, you're at the beginning of something else." There are way too many good quotes from Mr Rogers. He certainly had a way with words and valuable insight that he was fortunately able to share with the world for quite some time. I want to help others to find and understand their own strengths that they may use when they are faced with struggles. Whether you are young or old, experienced or not, you have a strength and sometimes we need a little help finding it. You can visit my website and click "Book Now" which will take you to view my availability as well.

Life can be messy, and things don’t always go as planned. Sometimes, it is the big stuff – the loss of a job, a chronic medical diagnosis, or a relationship breakdown. We may experience depression or anxiety and try to fix them by engaging in behaviors that only make us sadder or more worried. Whether you struggle with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, or any other issue, please know there is hope for a better tomorrow. I work with individuals to create an emotionally safe and nurturing space. My areas of focus are life stresses, divorce, parenting, depression, grief and loss.

My ideal client is seeking positive change. They may face trauma, depression, addiction, or anxiety, but they’re not defined by these. They’re brave individuals seeking support who need a safe space to express themselves, empathy, understanding, and professional guidance. Their goals are unique. Some aim to manage symptoms better, or seek to understand their feelings’ root cause. Some want to improve relationships, others aim to build better coping mechanisms. They seek a fulfilling, balanced life, free from past chains, in control of their present and future. They seek happiness and new ways to tap into their resilience.

Has life given you some lemons? Maybe copious amounts of gigantic lemons? Well, Im in the business of helping others make “lemonade”. I do this through counseling adult individuals. You are more than the lemon that led you to this website, so I want to see the big picture of your life and work together to get to a place where you have a healthy and peaceful relationship with your body, your past, and others. It won't be easy-peasy lemon-squeezy, but if you do the work, what was once sour will become sweet.

Have you ever contemplated incorporating counseling in your life but experienced hesitation prior to making that first call? I understand the first step can be daunting and filled with fear of being judged or misunderstood. As a counselor, my primary goal is to break down misconceptions about counseling and provide each client with a safe, supportive, nonjudgmental, and encouraging atmosphere to aid them in overcoming life’s challenges. I work with individuals and couples facing issues within themselves and within their relationships, to include: anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, diminished self-worth, and trauma.

“Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.” ― Kahlil Gibran ― If you are seeking counseling to discover a better way forward, I am here as supporter and guide but you yourself will be the one who will have all the credit for the growth and improvement made during the process. The client's who get the most out of my services put forth the work and are rewarded by their own progress. And its okay to not know the answers to questions but I'm going to challenge you to find out.

Welcome and hello! My name is Janelle. I'm a therapist, a mom, a partner, and just your average messy human. I love what I do and I love the people I get to spend time with each day. I believe that all who enter my office have their own wisdom and truth and I work to find that and teach you how to trust it. I use tools and resources to help you feel whole and congruent and to go forward with your own power. We'll laugh, we'll cry, we'll heal. It'll sometimes be uncomfortable. But I promise you won't be alone.

Powering through difficult experiences and relationships alone takes a toll on your mind, body, and spirit. It makes you feel disconnected from the world, like you're living in a dream. Going through the motions each day trying to appear "normal" leaves you feeling drained and dead inside. It feels impossible to manage your emotions. Anger, persistent sadness, and depression take over. You feel helpless, guilty, and ashamed. You want to feel hope, peace, and joy but don't know if that's possible for you.

Openings are currently available! I have both weekly and bi-weekly openings currently. Welcome to Storyboard Counseling! My name is Javin (like Gavin with a ‘J’), and I appreciate you stopping by. You are already showing great strength in reaching out for help in seeking counseling support. In the creation of films, tv shows, video games, and other mediums, storyboards are used to show potential events of a story, a “rough draft” in images of what is going to happen. Some panels on a storyboard are locked in and cannot be changed. However, there are many elements of a story that can evolve and change in its making.

Hi! Welcome to a new, positive change in your life. You’ve already taken the first step in your life’s healing to change your journey just by reading my profile. If you’re visiting my profile because you’re trying to navigate feelings of anxiety, depression, sadness, shame, unworthiness, feeling stuck/derailed, or not moving forward, then you’ve come to the right place. You might possibly feel your emotions are on such a deep, intense level that no one else seems to relate or understand.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.
Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
