We have helped countless individuals overcome addiction, trauma, grief, anxiety and depression and go on to live a satisfying life.
Are you tired of being exhausted with worry, depression and lack of direction? Maybe you've made mistakes that are leaving you bogged down by self-defeat, doubt? And as a result, are you fed up? Like you just can't take another minute of it. If either of these is true, you are our specialty. We thrive working with families (and anyone else) suffering with self-destructive behaviors, anxiety, addictions, trauma, grief or loss. After working with us, people usually begin to embrace their shortcomings and rediscover their dreams.

Whether in my local private practice, or over the phone I work with anxiety disorders, grief therapy, mood disorders, and personality conflicts in relationships.
As a clinical psychologist, I look forward to joining you on your journey to optimum communication within relationships, grieving losses, and the expression of deep emotions. By exploring triggers to behaviors such as sexual acting out, pornography use, and looking at issues like anxiety, PTSD, or low self-esteem you can learn skills to manage, if not overcome, unwanted behaviors that bring about damaging results. Ive worked with patients of all ages, but find great joy working with children, teens, couples, and individuals who desire to make a positive change in their lives. Spiritual issues related to church conflict also welcome

I also work with teens, women, and older adults who struggle with trauma, infertility, life transitions, grief, self-esteem, self-worth, body image, anxiety, depression, etc.
Let's face it, raising teenagers is hard. No one prepares you for the day to day emotional challenges that come with caring for your teen. I will also tell you a little secret, it's also hard being a teen. Adolescence is a time where teens are figuring out who they are, where they fit in, all while trying to balance raging hormones and the never ending pressure to be someone else. Whether you are the parent struggling to communicate better with your teen, or the teen trying to navigate your burgeoning independence, my hope is to provide a warm space where healing and restoration can begin.

I hope to help those with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss.
My desire is to bring care and compassion into the counseling relationship. I believe there is hope in breaking free from pain and fear, ultimately bringing about a life of purpose and joy. I bring with me experience in family relationships, raising children (who are now all adults), and marriage. Life in the military also brings with it the experience of instability and change in family and relationships. I believe each person has their own story to tell and that ultimately, healing is possible.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
