I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist specializing in working with school aged children, teens, and adult individuals. As a child therapist I utilize play therapy, expressive art, and sandtray therapy modalities, providing children with developmentally appropriate opportunities to self-direct and “play out” their feelings and inner worlds much as adults “talk out” their feelings in traditional talk therapy. I also work with adult individuals or parents seeking to re-procress traumatic memories. My counseling approach is integrative and proscriptive, relationship-focused, and strengths-based.

I am passionate about EMDR therapy as a way to treat trauma, depression, anxiety and other challenges. I also use creative approaches with people of all ages, due to my extensive play therapy training. Being a registered play therapist supervisor (RPT-S) helps me to work creatively and compassionately with people across the lifespan. I am also certified in perinatal and infant mental health, so that I can support children, parents and families from the start.

As a school psychologist working in the public schools for over ten years, I created Kids Connection to provide a variety of services to children and their families in a private, safe and welcoming environment. I address many areas of need including emotional regulation, anxiety, depression and behavioral challenges. I address these needs through a variety of formats including individual therapy, group therapy, parent workshops, behavioral consultations, and life-skills sessions. I specialize in working with children ages 5-17 with academic, social or behavioral challenges. I also have specific experience working with gifted and talented children and their unique mental health needs.

I have worked with elementary and middle school aged children for the past 16 years and love helping children develop coping skills for emotional regulation management and manage other stressors in their lives. I'm able to assist families navigate the school setting as needed. I also enjoy working with adults to help come up with strategies to manage anxiety, relationship issues, parenting and cope with any past trauma.

The Children’s Trauma Center (CTC) provides comprehensive trauma treatment for children ages 3-12. We use treatment models that have proven results. We also believe that imbalances in nutrition, movement, sleep, and connection with others, can have a significant impact on a child’s quality of life and ability to fully participate in effective trauma treatment. At CTC, we attend not only to the trauma treatment, but also to the child's overall health by providing therapeutic "whole health" activities in our indoor garden, kitchen and outdoor space.
