I am a dedicated Couples Therapist and Individual Therapist who works by mixing both psychodynamic/relational and somatic practices. I specialize in supporting couples who struggle with communication, and infidelity, and those who have "lost the spark". My Individual work focuses on anxiety, relationship issues, and stress management. I work well with people who struggle to manage conflict and feel insecure in expressing their wants/needs/thoughts/feelings. I am direct, and kind, and I provide both practical tools and deeper insights.

Utilizing evidence based practices such as psychodynamic, relational, somatic, and EMDR therapy, I help adults process and navigate their stress and feelings.
Choosing to embark on the therapeutic journey is often both frightening and exciting, and certainly is always brave. Being willing to ask for support, to be with the thoughts and feelings that are present, and to dive deep into the past may feel incredibly vulnerable; doing these things with a trusted and skilled therapist can transform the ways we feel about ourselves, our relationships, and our world. I work with sensitive and emotional people of all genders who are eager to work together to feel supported and better understand themselves. I find that this deep work ultimately facilitates more peace, ease, and fulfillment.

I use a relational, psychodynamic model that is best suited for adolescents and adults, and I have experience working with families and couples.
There's a difference between wandering around in the past and purposefully connecting what we've been through to our current situations. If you are looking for someone to help connect what you've been through to what you are going through now, and to identify new ways to shape your future, then I am here to help. Whether we are discussing relationship patterns, past trauma, mood disturbances or otherwise, we can work together to identify what you expect from yourself and others, and how you respond to those expectations. We will figure out how and where new expectations and ways of meeting the world will reshape your life.

I work from a psychodynamic, trauma-informed, and relational perspective believing that it’s never too early or too late to fortify the soul.
I approach therapy as a collaborative experience meeting people where they're at, non-judgmentally and forming genuine relationships that cultivate wholeness. We all experience transitions and life changes that challenge us. I help people understand these experiences so that they can live more authentic and effective lives. With the use of integrated skills and insight building therapies, we'll weave together self-awareness, acceptance and behavioral modification to work towards your goals and build the life you desire. I'm a real person that believes positive change takes work and intention.

I feel passionate about supporting people who want to heal from family and relational trauma, which can often be accompanied by anxiety, low self worth, perfectionist and people-pleasing tendencies, and emotional overwhelm and/or suppression.
I believe that we all have important stories to tell. Sharing those impactful stories while working through the emotions and self beliefs tied to them can bring clarity, ease, and a sense of understanding. In my practice, I vow to hold a space of warmth, empathy, and unconditional acceptance for my clients to allow their stories and vulnerabilities to be heard and nurtured. I enjoy working with individuals who want to build awareness of patterns that they feel stuck in; and together, we will explore avenues of change.

I am a relational therapist who uses evidence-based approaches for a curated treatment experience that leads to meaningful change.
Therapy helps you access your inherent ability to heal and find sovereignty. We all have the innate capacity for cultivating joy, to love and be loved; but the ways we have learned to cope and relate to others in the past are not necessarily the ways to thrive now. Your physical and emotional experiences are messages that can help you understand your needs and values, providing the insight and motivation to change and grow. When we learn to respond to these messages with care and wisdom, we begin to serve our deeper purpose and selves.

I am passionate about working with individuals who feel stunted by the lingering impact of trauma, PTSD, substance abuse, and early childhood relational wounding.
All of us have acquired habits of mind, body, and thought as a means of seeking safety and connection throughout times of stress, chaos, or trauma in our lives. My intention is to help you shift any unwanted habits or patterns as we mutually explore alternative ways for you to manage your mind, regulate your nervous system, and attend to your body with self-love and acceptance. Therapy isn’t about ‘fixing’ oneself; rather, it is a journey from insight to integration, a reclamation of everything you have lost along the way, a practice of gentleness, and a return to wholeness.

I work with both individuals and relational systems surrounding relational concerns, ethical non-monogamy/polyamory, codependency, familial conflicts; as well as anxiety, depression, financial stress, and life transitions.
I know finding the right fit for a therapist can be a bit like shopping for a sofa: try a bunch before finding the one that makes you want to rest and stay a while. I’ll offer a few details that might make this process feel a little more directive. I am a licensed professional counselor and a marriage and family therapist candidate. My work is relational at its core, whether I am working with individuals, or larger units. Those who seem to get the most out of working with me are in touch with their internal emotional landscapes and interested in being active participants in their healing.

My approach is interactive in style and depth-oriented, using psychodynamic, existential, and relational therapies.
Wanting to know yourself more fully? When we enter therapy, we are choosing a process of looking deeper into the truth of our lives and the parts of our core selves. Although those prospects may sound frightening, good therapy is a gift that we give ourselves: a gift of understanding, cultivated compassion, and widening clarity. I believe therapy is a collaborative process that should incorporate curiosity, acceptance, and connection. My goal as a therapist is to help people authentically connect to their truer sense of selves in order to live more fulfilling lives and have more meaningful relationships.

Relational Therapists

How does relational therapy work?

Relational therapy was developed by psychologist Jean Miller, whose ideas stressed that having strong connections with others encourages better health and well-being when compared with a lonely existence. Conversely, poor interpersonal relationships do not foster growth and learning. Relational therapy also encourages trust in others and patience with others, along with better communication and less conflict.

Is relational therapy evidence-based?

Relational therapy is not well-studied, and it may not be as effective in treating certain mental health conditions when compared with evidence-based treatments like cognitive behavioral or acceptance and commitment therapy. However, relational therapy uses techniques found in cognitive behavioral therapy as well as psychodynamic therapy, which are both well-studied with empirical research.

How long are people typically in relational therapy?

Clients may see improvement after a few weeks or months of therapy. Like cognitive behavioral therapy, relational therapy can reduce symptoms within 10 to 20 weeks, at 45 to 50 minutes once a week. But like any type of therapy, improvement depends on the person and the severity of the problem.

Does relational therapy work?

While no therapy type will work for everyone, some evidence suggests that this therapy can be effective. Relational therapy can help a person manage problematic relationships as well as the mental health conditions that accompany difficult relationships like depression or anxiety. This therapy type may offer benefits that are hard to measure but can be just as valuable—including feelings of higher self-worth or healthier connections with others.
