My professional journey started as a special education teacher and led me to become a counselor. I have worked with individuals of all ages, from children to adults, in various settings such as academic, clinical, hospital, private practice, and military. I believe in using an eclectic framework that tailors to my clients’ strengths and needs. I use different therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Family Systems, and Mindfulness.

My approach to therapy is to meet clients where they are at, listen to their concerns, and make specific therapeutic goals to accomplish. I excel at creating safe spaces for people to talk and explore themselves. I am a secular, spiritual therapist. I love to help people find their potential and understand themselves through intentional, actionable steps. If a client says, “I want to love myself,” that is followed by real discussion about how that works and goal setting for how it can be accomplished.

I specialize in Military/Veteran issues, anxiety and trauma treatment to clients residing anywhere in TX, NC & AK. No travel required! I provide a non-judgmental atmosphere that enables frank, honest discussions that promote change. I have a good history with clients seeking out initial care as well as those who have been unsuccessful with other therapists. I do not accept insurance, as I believe care should be authentic and person-centered without coding or billing guidelines dictating care.

I look for clients that are serious about change, tired of the dead ends and ready to step into a new life path as their best selves. My practice offers tools for trauma, depression, anxiety, and also works to progress life's bigger picture, and aid the search for direction and purpose that we often feel is missing. This toolset includes EMDR and Internal Family Systems, as well the creation of a healing space to reflect. My approach centers on addressing difficulties related to oppositional defiance, tantrums, aggressive behaviors, anxiety (separation/selective mutism), ADHD symptoms, and distant parent-child relationships.
