I am dedicated to helping young adults and older individuals overcome life's challenges with a compassionate and understanding approach. I specialize in supporting clients who are navigating cultural conflicts, struggling with self-esteem issues, seeking effective stress management techniques, or working towards trauma recovery. As someone who identifies as Muslim, I have had the honor of working with clients from diverse backgrounds and love exploring issues related to religion and spirituality from an unbiased perspective.

My ideal client is someone who has been hurt or traumatized, they need comfort, they are desiring someone to listen to them and care deeply for them; they are seeking meaning and resolution from all the hurts, habits, and hang-ups in their life.

I strive to provide a caring and non-judgmental approach to therapy that helps individuals identify their strengths. I am interested in the connections between mind, body and spirit in the healing process of therapy. I trust that clients are the expert on themself, and I will collaborate with clients throughout the therapeutic process. My areas of interest as a therapist are complex trauma, domestic violence, sexual assault, adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, peri/postnatal issues, depression/anxiety, body image/body trust, positive sexuality, LGBTQIA+ and neurodiversity.

When human beings experience trauma or severe life stressors, it is not uncommon for their lives to feel like it unraveling or falling apart. My great passion is bringing healing to people who have been through real life experiences, that directly or indirectly caused one trauma or a significant amount of stress. I possess an ability to connect with an individual, regardless of what differences we may have, we have life in common. Growing up in a large, blended family, I learned firsthand how to deal with relationships of all kinds. I counseled veterans and civilians suffering from PTSD and childhood trauma. This led me to EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) which can yield remarkable results in processing and healing trauma responses. In addition to EMDR I also use Psychodynamic Therapy, CBT and DBT. There is a solution to end the cycle of suffering. We can be free of emotional pain caused by trauma and childhood experiences to live our best lives now.

Ethel Richard-Peterson, LCSW Ethel Richard-Peterson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas who has been practicing since 1982. She has a Master's Degree in Social Work. Ethel sees each client as a unique individual with strengths and areas they seek to enhance. She listens to client's expressed concerns. She has spent many years counseling clients regarding death and dying, substance abuse, and chronic/acute medical conditions. In her spare time, Ethel enjoys music, being around water, and art.

As a Clinical Neuropsychologist, I have been testing toddlers, children, adolescents and college students in Houston for over 10 years. A neuropsychological evaluation diagnoses learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, attention problems, language disorders, giftedness, emotional issues, and behavior issues by integrating testing with medical, academic and developmental history. Testing can also help educators and parents have a better understanding of a child's learning style and processing strengths and weaknesses. The goal of an assessment is to provide useful diagnostic information and targeted practical recommendations. Dr. Raizner works regularly with local schools, clinical psychologists, speech pathologists, occupational therapists and physicians.
