Hey Y’all! My name is Alyssa Vargas. I am a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. I approach counseling through a collaborative and humanistic perspective. I believe every client should be met where they are in their healing journey. I enjoy working with clients as they explore ways their life experiences have impacted their present self. Growing up I was always a good listener, but over the past 14 years as a therapist, I have dedicated myself to becoming a great listener. I know that asking for emotional help can be difficult, so when it happens, I want to be that person who can offer a platform for those who want to be heard. I work with adolescents and adults identifying barriers to success and then finding ways to knock them down. I will meet you where you are with empathy and kindness and support you on your journey to happiness and wholeness.

I believe therapy involves collaboration with my clients for individualized care. Whether working with an individual, a couple, or a family, I provide therapy that helps clients explore their past and present dynamics to provide corrective experiences. I see people as the experts to their own experiences. My clinical style involves strength-based approaches to help my clients feel supported while incorporating evidence-based practices and providing direct feedback and guidance. My hope is that through therapy you can overcome things that are holding you back from having healthy relationships and discovering your full potential.

She has over a decade of experience in the mental health industry. She works with a variety of populations ranging from adolescents, adults, couples, and families.

I place a strong focus on exploring developmentally important emotional and relational disruptions and rely heavily on attachment theory as a conceptual grounding in my work. I have experience in working with family-of-origin concerns, religious/spiritual concerns, existential questions, relationship concerns, Adult-Children-of-Divorce, LGBTQI concerns, and difficulties with acculturation. My clients are diverse in their racial and ethnic identity, religious affiliation, social class, economic status, sexual orientation, and age. I particularly enjoy working with those who are looking to explore what is beneath their current symptoms in order to understand themselves better and enact lasting change.

I have many years of experience working with people who have experienced a variety of emotional difficulties, relationship conflicts, and childhood trauma. In addition, I have assisted clients in preparing to participate in court regarding custody issues as well as addressing recommendations made by the court for parenting skills, anger management, and conflict resolution strategies.
