I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by Heidi Johanson, LPC-S. I am passionate about working with adults who are seeking help for trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, LGBTQIA affirming care, mood disorders, and trauma-informed parenting. I also work with veterans who are struggling to transition back to civilian life. I served in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman and trained as a behavioral health technician which was an invaluable experience that solidified my journey to working in mental health. I enjoy fostering a healing environment for my clients and watching them grow into finding self-discovery.

Over 25 years clinical experience in helping adults struggling with workplace issues, everyday stressors, depression, anxiety/obsessive worry/panic attacks, relationship issues, divorce, unhealthy boundaries, toxic boss, job burnout, lack of work/life balance, conflict/criticism/difficult people, dysfunctional family, shame/guilt, healing past pain/hurts & losses, Trauma/PTSD, decreased self-esteem/confidence & chronic pain. I also have in-depth experience/insight into the specialized field of working with all types of First Responders & their family members related to the job, crisis situations, secondary trauma & family issues.

I have a long history of working with children, adolescents, and their families. While I believe that our past does shape who we are, it does not define what our future has to be. I have worked in various settings which include foster care, residential treatment, outpatient treatment, and school based mental health. I work to create an environment where clients feel safe, comfortable, and calm which allows them to grow in the areas that they need to so that they can live their best life.

I love working with clients from all walks of life. I have experience working with clients across the lifespan. I am especially passionate about working with children and teenagers who have experienced traumatic events or major life stressors.

Throughout my experience as a counselor, I have noticed that our shame is the foundational and often times our biggest barrier to success. My approach is to help client's identify and replace these shame-based thoughts and become more aware of how these thoughts impact the way they see themselves, others, and the world around them. Once you can view your authentic self as someone that is worthy, goals can be clearly defined, progress can be made, and healing can be obtainable. While this isn't the only consideration in counseling, it is one of great importance.

I support clients in trauma recovery, adolescent and school issues, anxiety, depression, and self-esteem. I specialize in middle school and teen students as well as providing support for their parents.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington. As a neurodivergent individual and a parent to my neurodivergent children, I have a unique understanding and lived experience regarding neurodivergence (particularly related to autism and ADHD). I am passionate about working with other neurodivergent individuals of all ages and identities from a neurodiversity-affirming approach.
