You’re falling behind and falling apart. Life isn’t waiting for you. It keeps spinning. Everything feels out of control. Exhausted and overwhelmed, you’re expected to have it all together. Manage your responsibilities. Show up in relationships. Work hard and be a good person. There are a thousand directions for your energy and focus to go and there is only one of you. Why can’t everyone just give you a second to catch your breath? Your thoughts are racing in circles and you feel on edge.

I have seen the pain and dysfunction caused by mental health and behavioral issues. Not only do these issues affect the client directly, but everyone in their lives. My greatest satisfaction comes from helping these individuals understand the cause of their behaviors so that they can move past them. My ideal client genuinely wants to change the way they think and behave. They feel helpless and hopeless. Those are the individuals who benefit the most from hypnotherapy. Treatment allows them to develop an enthusiasm for life that allows them to start each new day. That's when we are both successful.

Here you are, looking for some help-so well done, you! Sometimes part of us wants help and another part wants to "do it on our own". Therefore, it is understandable that it might be no small task to make that first call. AND since sorting thoughts, feelings, and worries can feel overwhelming, I appreciate your courage and wisdom in seeking professional assistance, because no one has to do this alone. Getting to "better" is often very collaborative. Together, we can find a healthy and safe way to discover, sort and map the confusion/worry and then move forward. When you are ready, please give me a call. I am right here.

Life is beautiful and full of struggles. You do not need to face these struggles alone. Sometimes, just having someone to sit with you can have a huge impact. I would love the opportunity to be the person sitting by your side, or walking next to you along this journey.

When I was reaching out for counseling for the first time, I felt so stuck and helpless. There were so many things to consider and I was worried about finding the right fit for my needs as well as finding someone who I could truly trust and resonate with. As you are searching for a counselor to help you explore your inner world, I hope that I may be able to help. With empathy and safety as top priorities, we can begin to untangle stories, process grief, relieve anxiety or depression, or address trauma. Maybe just one of those things, maybe all of those things, or maybe more! You deserve peace and rest.

Change is hard, and sometimes we can feel lost. Perhaps you're a teenager trying to figure out who you are while navigating tricky relationships and a mountain of pressure and expectations. Or maybe you're an expecting or new (or even a seasoned) parent, also trying to merge different identities and figuring out what this new life looks like. Each of these life stages brings a rollercoaster of emotions, challenges, and joys.

The decision to begin therapy can be one of the most important steps you can take to improve your quality of life and make meaningful change. I would like to help you along that journey. I specialize in working with individuals who experience ADHD symptoms, anxiety, are on the Autism spectrum, identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community, live alternative lifestyles (kink/cnm), or are adjusting to life changes. If you're motivated to "dig in" & make meaningful change in your life, I'd love to help you accomplish your goals in a safe and welcoming environment for meaningful change where you feel understood & affirmed.

Your teen looks like they have it all together, but you know deep down something is “off.” They aren’t as interested in attending school activities or hanging out with friends as they were. They avoid discussing their daily school activities. Things that hadn’t been prior issues (what to wear to school) suddenly create come-aparts. At times they are hanging on by a thread, and so are you! The anxiety causes stomach aches, and they may even suffer the occasional panic attack. As their parent, you would like to see them happy, healthy, and enjoying this season of life. However, right now, that is only happening in small doses.

It is my goal to assist clients with life situations using emotional, physical, spiritual and mental tools. It is necessary to process the chaos of life to find the solutions within ourselves. Empowerment through the use of emotional resources and spiritual support is essential for healing. With over twenty years of experience I have assisted many clients to find recovery from self-defeating behaviors. I enjoy the challenges of the therapeutic process in treatment of anxiety, depression, co-dependency, addictions, marital issues, grief, and survivors of trauma. It is a sacred privilege to share the healing process of my clients.

It's so easy to get caught up in the world we live in. Past or current traumas get thrown aside, personal needs are put on the back burner, anxieties flare up, depression creeps in. Life just happens. Because of this, we can stray from a basic element our bodies and minds need, Harmonious Connection. I view this as living in tandem with your physical, mental, and emotional needs while forming relationships with others that creates peace and balance for you. I understand people are not always given the space deserved to form these connections. That is why I have created a haven where you can be seen, heard, supported, and valued.

How can I find a therapist in 66205?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
