It's his belief that this perspective along with his abilities to relate, be empathic, advocate, and empower facilitates a dynamic therapeutic process and relationship.
"Therapy is like a car navigation system-the therapist is the GPS offering a number of directions to help reach your destination, but you are the driver! Often times we may need a little direction or help to deal with the excess baggage, wrong turns, and bumps along the way. Give me the opportunity to help you navigate the way to your best self."

Life's moments are filled with joy, disappointment, triumph and challenges. Many of these experiences leave us feeling exhilarated, overwhelmed and in search of a new path in a different direction. I believe that the therapeutic environment is a safe space where mutual trust, honesty and insightful dialogue allow you to nurture, heal and replenish yourself. The therapeutic relationship is essential to my clinical approach; a collaborative effort to support and challenge as we establish and progress toward identified goals.

As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I will help you to explore the unwritten, often unconscious "rules" and dynamics that define your relationship.
How do we get through this conflict? Are we even compatible anymore? How can we have a relationship that is more fulfilling? How do we navigate this big change? As a relational therapist, I help couples and individuals address these common, sensitive questions. For clients who have decided to divorce, I help facilitate the process of separation and divorce. One of the things my past clients have appreciated about me is my extraordinary openness. I don't expect people to be a certain way, and I don't expect their relationships to take a certain form. Each relationship is as unique as the individuals in it.

It is my belief that relationship challenges are the shared responsibility of each member involved.
This is difficult; I get it. Searching for a therapist, placing the initial call, scheduling then attending the first session can truly be overwhelming. I commend you for deciding to make a positive change in your life or the life of a loved one. My goal as a therapist is to help individuals and couples clarify the type of lives they want to live, recognize strengths, identify obstacles, discover realistic solutions, and devise a plan to reach established goals. Our collaborative relationship will increase self-awareness to foster growth and healing.

I practice what I like to call relationship therapy. This means I work best with people who are psychologically-minded and want to develop a therapeutic relationship with me. Together (key word!) we seek to understand (another key word) the roots of your emotional distress. My belief is that these roots may be hidden or disguised, but never totally beyond one's grasp. Change is always possible.

My work with adults has been focused on assisting those who are experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, and life changes.
I believe therapy is a collaboration between client and therapist, working together to understand and shift patterns that may not be working for you anymore. I understand the strength it takes to face challenges and the sense of vulnerability that goes along with it. I believe the relationship that develops between client and therapist fosters a comfortable space where honest dialogue can happen. My approach is straightforward, encouraging and comes with a bit of humor as a way to remind ourselves that life is supposed to be enjoyed.

Life is difficult even under the best of circumstances. You may be seeking therapy in order to overcome some blocks to important goals in your relationships or career. Oftentimes these blocks are the result of using ways of coping that once were essential in dealing with important figures and problems from earlier in life, but which now get in the way of positive and healthy emotional and interpersonal functioning. Therapy is an excellent way of using a helping relationship to identify these coping styles, and ultimately to develop more effective ways of relating to yourself and to others.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
