I work intentionally to provide a safe, nonjudgemental space to support people on their journey of self-discovery. I believe therapy can be a beautiful space to get to know oneself, one's desires, hopes and goals, and explore whether we're living our life day-to-day in a way that's true to that. I work with people who are wanting to get to know themselves deeper, make changes in the way they're living, navigate life transitions, and build self-compassion and confidence.

With equal parts pragmatism and philosophy, I approach the process of therapy from a strength-based perspective, focusing on the potentials of reflection to bring about intentional choices. Life transitions can offer opportunities, however painful, to identify patterns and create alternatives. I deeply commit to collaboration in all aspects of my work bringing an integrative approach to multiple contexts. I apprach couples work as informed by Gottman training and Discernment therapy.

As a couples therapist I create a calm and non-judgmental environment for clients to connect (or reconnect) in ways they have been unable to on their own. Most people are often surprised that they have vulnerable, emotional, and confident sides of themselves. I have found that when people are able to tap into these skill sets, change is almost inevitable. My favorite thing about being a therapist is helping couples see the impact that vulnerability can have on improving their relationship. I believe that every relationship hits bumps and struggles, but, with help, everyone is capable of change.

Pushing through the stigma of starting therapy can be hard but extremely rewarding and I understand the courage required in taking this step. I will offer a compassionate, safe and collaborative space to foster connection and healing. As a Black woman, I believe in the importance of cultural humility, anti-racism, and gender affirmation in my practice, paying attention to power structures and systems that affect us all. I understand the stressors that minorities face as they navigate the challenges of living, working, and breathing in a society that is embedded in systemic oppression.

I believe that everyone deserves a non-judgmental space to reflect on their thoughts, feelings, and reality, however, that may look. As a supportive clinician, I like working with teens, adults 18+, parents, and families. For over 9 years, I have supported individuals and families in crisis settings strengthening my knowledge as a trauma-informed therapist. I am also comfortable supporting individuals who are not experiencing trauma and are just looking for maintenance on a wide range of topics: substance use, behavioral concerns, work- or home-related stress, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, grief, gender, culture, and sexuality.

“people start to heal the moment they feel heard” is a guiding principle of my practice. Therapy is a place where your story is centered. In this space, you are allowed to be vulnerable and completely as you are. We co-create change through the therapeutic process by holding space for life’s biggest challenges. Though the process feels lonely at times, you have a trusted professional guiding you and holding space with you every step of the way. Thank you for taking the next step in your journey. I am excited to be with you on your journey.
