My therapeutic style combines validation, investigation, and a collaborative strengths-based approach. Together, we'll explore your internal experiences and emotions, using tools like breathing exercises, practicing self-affirmations to promote growth, and building capacity to feed each of your emotions. All in all, I take the approach that we are not here to “get rid of our emotions” but rather build a partnership with them. To walk through life with them rather than against them. If this journey sounds promising then I think I could be the therapist for you!

Sinking, Surviving, Thriving, 3 pools of placement we can often find ourselves in. In life, we can at times feel the sinking reality of loss, grief, anxiety, or even depression and its impact on our functioning. Most of the time we are just getting by and surviving day to day just to give ourselves the opportunity to thrive. Whatever season you’re in, I am optimistic we can PIVOT in whatever direction you want to go. You know yourself best, and I am hopeful that between both of our expertise we can build and learn together! You have a story, let’s begin creating your narrative!

Pushing through the stigma of starting therapy can be hard but extremely rewarding and I understand the courage required in taking this step. I will offer a compassionate, safe and collaborative space to foster connection and healing. As a Black woman, I believe in the importance of cultural humility, anti-racism, and gender affirmation in my practice, paying attention to power structures and systems that affect us all. I understand the stressors that minorities face as they navigate the challenges of living, working, and breathing in a society that is embedded in systemic oppression.

Everybody deserves a space to feel safe, seen, heard, and respected. Therapy is a possible place for this to happen and I would love to be a part of that journey. Together, we can work through challenging emotions, feelings, thoughts, and social hurdles that come up. My job is to hold space for you and those challenges so that they can be explored without judgement or fear and to remind you that you are not alone when the journey feels lonely. I service teens and adults that are looking to learn more about themselves, grow into their values, and recognize and cultivate the strength that is already within them.

My work is informed by my own identities as a queer Latina, who is also bilingual (English/Spanish). I value exploring the intersection of identities and helping you build community. My goal is to encourage collaboration, so together, we can consider a holistic perspective of who you are and the experiences that have brought you here. This includes considering the impact various systems and spaces have on the identities you hold. You are the expert of your story and life, and this space is for you to be heard, seen, and supported. My approach includes working from a strengths-based and trauma-informed lens.

"Mental strength is not the ability to stay out of the darkness; it's the ability to sit present in the darkness knowing the light will shine again”, (ADHDsuperhero). I have a passion for assisting my clients through this process. Self-care is a practice we rarely exercise. You cannot care for others until you take care of yourself. Make the decision to take time for you; you are worth it!
