I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with experience working with individuals, couples, and families. I am especially passionate about working with couples and adults who are seeking support for concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, and relational conflict. For me, helping people navigate the challenges they face and the difficulties in their relationships is an incredibly fulfilling journey. I believe that empathy and kindness are the most important things we bring to our relationships, and it is my goal that my clients feel heard, supported, and cared for.

Renew. Revive. Restore. The decision to begin therapy is a brave one. Embarking on a journey of healing is an investment in one's self. I seek to partner with clients on their quest to better understand themselves, their relationships and their lives. In the confines of a respectful, nurturing relationship, clients heal from their past and create a new narrative in which they can thrive.

I became a therapist because I believe that change is always possible, and that humans have an inherent ability to heal and transform when they feel safe, heard, and connected. I understand that sometimes patterns of thinking, difficult emotions, or past circumstances feel like they pull us away from living life fully. In session, I will work with you to identify your strengths, increase self-compassion, create safety in your body, and expand your capacity to respond in the face of life’s difficult moments. I'm also a big believer in the power of humor, and encourage you to bring your full selves into our work together.

I believe that our problems can be linked to frozen patterns and cycles we have learned to protect ourselves. I passionately believe that you are not your problem, but rather these persistent patterns are to blame. I have found that the key to breaking these patterns and unlocking our potential is through the courage to be emotionally vulnerable with others while cultivating compassion toward ourselves. While I help people get “unstuck” from a variety of issues, I specialize in helping individuals and couples with religious trauma, anxiety, perfectionism, eating disorders, and relationship issues.

Change is a part of life, but it can make everything feel out of control. How will I get through it? Is this really what I should be doing? Everything feels like too much. Whether you’re entering a “quarter life crisis”, questioning what you want in life, or going through the motions, unhappy in a job or relationship that doesn’t feel right, you don’t need to figure it all out on your own. It’s time to feel a sense of relief, confidence in your decisions, and direction in life. You want to enjoy life, be fully present in the great moments without feeling stress weighing you down everyday. Together, we can make life feel lighter.

I'm passionate about working with people who desire to learn, reflect, and grow--even if it's hard to find the motivation or energy to do so. Their goals are to work through their current situation by building skills and developing insight together. We often seek therapy when things are not going well only to realize it is a tool that can help us reach our goals no matter the circumstance. I am a firm believer that taking the step to care for your mental health will undoubtedly change so many aspects of your life, and I hope to provide support as you continue to build your skills and work toward your goals.

Let's talk about something we all know to be true – life is one big tangle of relationships. Whether you're dating, single, married, engaged, part of a cozy little family, or navigating the chaos of a massive one, relationships are everywhere. And, you know what? Contrary to those picture-perfect moments we see online, not all of these relationships are sunshine and rainbows 100% of the time, or even 50% of the time! But, here's the deal – you're not alone in feeling some type of way about your connections with others or with yourself.

For over 20 years I have been helping people with anxiety, depression, relationship struggles and work related challenges. Regardless of how intelligent or insightful a person is, everyone may at times become overwhelmed or stuck. We may not know what to do, or knowing what to do we are puzzled by why we don't act in our own best interests. Becoming "unstuck", acting in one's best interests, often requires the courage to experience painful feelings and tolerate uncertainty while changing. At these times, the safety and privacy of the therapeutic relationship can help one to move forward to a more fulfilling life.

I believe we are deeply influenced by our early experiences, as well as our past and present relationships. Yet no matter what we have been through, all of us possess the power to forge a new path in life. We must explore our past in order to move forward.

There are many reasons to look for a therapist. While I do not know your reasons, I do know it is often when it is hard to find help that you most need it. I work well with people who struggle to trust others, or have had difficulty feeling understood. Having worked in inpatient, community health, and private practice I have had the opportunity to support people with a large range of issues, often dealing with many issues at once. I bring my knowledge base and ways of understanding into the room - I aim to recognize how various factors interplay: family history, biology, identity, culture, and personality to name a few.

I deeply value the relationship between therapist and client and believe that therapy is a collaborative process. I approach therapy with a compassionate and open stance, striving to create a genuine connection with each of my clients. When it comes to problems we face, it can be difficult to see past ourselves and because of this, we may internalize this as we are the problem. In reality problems are something that are separate from who we are as individuals and there are often interpersonal relationships and external factors that play a major role in what may bring one to therapy. I help to provide clients with the strength and skills to work collaboratively to move towards change and progress. By calling attention to problematic stories and bringing healthy stories to light, this reframes how we think of issues & restores control of your own narrative.
