Life is constantly moving, changing, and evolving. Sometimes it feels like too much to take on alone. In a fast-paced world with many truths, I enable individuals to fully understand themselves in a warm, judgment-free environment. I work with young adults facing life transitions, relationship challenges, career stress, and quarter-life crisis. I also work with adults of all ages experiencing anxiety, depression, career uncertainty, grief, eating disorders, and health concerns. I am incredibly impassioned by helping individuals to understand their own personal intersection between mental wellness and physical health.

(She/Her/Hers) Over the years, I have built a practice devoted to improving the lives of people from a wide variety of backgrounds, struggling with a number of different issues. More recently, I have shifted my focus from clinical practice to the training of pre-licensed and early career therapists. I very much enjoy mentoring as it gives me the opportunity to share all that I have learned in my two decades of providing psychotherapy.

Career: Everyone has exceptional natural aptitudes.
Update: Not accepting clients at this time. Many scientists are rethinking the belief that depression and anxiety are caused by dysregulation of brain chemistry. The cause, they think, is adversity, and it can be better treated by therapy that teaches people how to deal with their circumstances. That adversity takes many forms – narcissistic, abusive, inattentive or addicted parents, traumatic events, and childhood bullying are all examples. I use evidence-based practices that will produce the improvements you want in your life. You and I will find and address your distress. My approach is to be both empathic and directive.

I have a great deal of experience in Psychodynamic therapy as well as symptom-focused therapies, career counseling, and coaching.
I partner with clients to create lasting change, by examining their strengths, challenges, and obstacles. My clients span across race, ethnicity, culture, age, sexual orientation, and spiritual beliefs. I work with individuals, couples, and families. People often come to therapy because they feel a gap in being understood- by a friend, by a partner, someone at work, or even by themselves. In our work, we explore new ways of thinking, communicating, reducing stress, and improving relationships.

I specialize in working with relationship and family of origin concerns; emotional, physical and sexual trauma; grief and loss; college/graduate student mental health, women's health and wellness, prenatal and postpartum adjustment and concerns and life transitions such as starting a new career, becoming a parent or navigating divorce.
I practice from an insight-oriented, collaborative, and individualized approach to meet the unique needs of each person I work with. I strive to provide a supportive and accepting space for my patients to feel heard and understood while also feeling challenged to experiment with new ways of thinking, feeling and relating. My hope is that therapy can be useful in providing tools to relieve immediate stress while also helping uncover the underlying meanings of unwanted or distressing symptoms, feelings and relational patterns in order to create lasting change.

I have worked in multiple settings and helped people experiencing a wide range of issues including trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, psychosis, cultural identity concerns, relationships and career development.
I believe psychotherapy should be simple and accessible; theories are important yet your own experience is the best teacher. Similarly, connecting with my clients on a deeply relational level and developing an understanding of who you are is as integral to the process as the clinical training which informs my therapeutic approach. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who emphasizes existential concerns at the heart of the issues that bring people into therapy. Some examples include creating a more meaningful existence, exercising personal freedom/choice, and developing a greater sense of responsibility for one's growth.

My clinical expertise includes anxiety, addictions, family of origin and cultural identity issues, career/work matters, life transitions, working with expatriates and men over the age of 30 who are experiencing life transitions, and relationship issues.
Sometimes we do not know where our strengths lie. It is when we are in a room with an empathic person focusing on our needs and issues, we can then access our strengths and move forward. I firmly believe everyone has it in themselves to be self-aware and address elements that are causing disharmony in their lives. My goal is to offer clients a safe and nonjudgmental environment where they can freely express themselves and just be. My approach is collaborative based on mutual respect, kindness, and empathy. Encompassing a person centered style I focus on understanding you as an individual and helping you gain insight and flourish.

Coaching is also available on issues of life, career and relationships.
My interest in therapy started when I was at my breaking point, and my own therapy experiences didn't help. Since then, I've tried to be a therapist for anyone who found themselves in a similar situation, and sometimes being a helper isn't enough. I strive to connect with people where they are at, to understand what others might not, and to help when even the system lets you down. We all need an ally to get unstuck, reconnect and pick ourselves up, and I believe in doing so with warmth and respect. It can be tough to choose a stranger when we feel vulnerable and out of control. I've made it my goal to be someone worthy of that.

People enter into therapy for a variety of reasons such as; having experienced a recent or past trauma, struggling with anxiety, depression or a life altering event. Ultimately, we all want to feel better and live more productive lives. I believe that therapy is a collaborative endeavor which takes place in an open and non-judgmental environment. My role is to help clients gain a deeper understanding of themselves, what motivates their behaviors and how they can bring about the desired changes.
