I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing individual therapy for adolescents (16+) and adults of all ages. I utilize an integrative approach to best support clients' needs and therapeutic goals. Some of the concerns I specialize in are depression, anxiety, OCD, self-esteem, life transitions, stress, social anxiety, body-image, trichotillomania/bfrbs. I have over 18 years experience working with clients of all ages. Areas of specialty include: anxiety, complex anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, Women's Health, self-esteem, relationships, career and academic exploration, and other stressors. I am passionate about helping women grow and nurture their relationship with themselves, their dynamic identity and their body. I am also passionate about helping parents grow together in their parenting journey and explore how to feel successful while raising children. Many people try to just "get by." I use therapy as a way to help clients thrive and feel successful in the world around them.

There are times for many of us when life no longer feels workable. The stress of life changes, work, or study becomes overwhelming. You might feel unable to find connection, joy, or a sense of purpose in your life, frozen by the pain of your past or uncertainty about your future. You withdraw into numbness or despair, caught in patterns that you can’t seem to break and unable to fully connect with the people and the world around you. Perhaps anxious thoughts and behaviors nag and exhaust you, driving you further from the things that you value. It feels like your own mind has become an enemy.

I'm a queer therapist who often works with LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and Latine children, adults, couples/partners, families, and polycules, while being mindful of my white identity. My areas of interest include identity exploration and intersectionality, difficulties related to sex and intimacy, challenges in communication between partners, and non-monogamous and polyamorous relationships. I work across the lifespan and have experience with children as young as three years old through adulthood. I often pull from frameworks like psychodynamic theory, person-centered therapy, and attachment theory.

Amy believes that change and growth happen within a safe and secure relationship. Oftentimes our symptoms serve a deeper purpose and Amy curiously and compassionately will help you explore that purpose. She believes early relationships impact current functioning. Amy is passionate about working with clients around issues of trauma, anxiety, substance use, identity, spirituality, religious harm, and relational distress. Amy also works with children and families who have experienced trauma, anxiety, ADHD, and behavioral issues. Amy involves parents/caregivers to address parental concerns and promote healthy parent/child attachment.

I have experience working with individual adults and partnerships in areas such as anxiety, depression, sex & intimate wellness, relationship conflict, sexual assault, life transitions, and self esteem. One of my primary areas of expertise is working with members of the LGBTQ+ community in areas of positive sexual and/ or gender identity, coming out, transitioning, and sexual health. However, I work with people of all identities and backgrounds. I foster a therapeutic space that is identity-affirming, sex-positive, and polyamorous- and kink-affirming.

In particular, I enjoy working with young adults and adolescents who want to work through trauma, anxiety, and/or are questioning their sexuality. I have experience in working with youth, adolescents, and adults of all ages; specifically targeting LGBTQIA+ issues, anxiety, depression, grief, complex trauma, and various life transitions. I also enjoy working with couples and families to feel connected, gain perspective and work on communication skills.

I enjoy working with individuals navigating their anxiety, feelings of walking between two cultural worlds, complex grief & loss, depression, family dynamics, forced displacement, gender identity, intergenerational trauma, all life stage transitions, spirituality, & relationship with a breast cancer diagnosis. With a trauma-focused & intersectional lens, I primarily work with adolescents, young adults & elderly people from AAPI, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, immigrant & refugee communities. I focus on 1.5 and 2nd generation Filipino/a/x & South Asian American Immigrants, young adults with breast cancer & older adults chronic comorbidities.

Accepting New Patients in IL - I specialize in the treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), hair-pulling/skin-picking, and generalized anxiety. I have over a decade of experience working in private practice, university counseling centers, hospitals, and schools. I also frequently work with individuals facing stress, major life transitions, and academic or work-related issues. I've worked extensively with students and professionals in fields like law, medicine, and business.

I work with adults of all ages struggling with anxiety, depression, mood and bipolar disorders, life stressors and transitions, relationship issues, self-esteem, stress management, health issues, trauma, and grief. My clients will work toward gaining the confidence and skills they need to accomplish their goals, whatever they may be. I pride myself on building a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients and creating a safe, empathetic, judgment-free, and compassionate environment in which they can feel comfortable and thrive in.

Everyone enters therapy with different goals. Whether a person is very clear on what they want to accomplish or still figuring things out, I encourage them to make choices at their own pace. As a social worker, I also help my clients unpack how larger systems impact their mental health and relationships. I use a queer-affirming, anti-oppressive, and neurodivergent-affirming approach to therapy.
