I have received both my Undergraduate and Graduate degrees from the University of Michigan. I am also a United States Air Force Veteran. I have over 30 years of direct clinical experience working with a broad variety of clients across numerous clinical presentations. I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings as well as forensic mental health, but my passion is working in the private practice setting. I truly enjoy my work and blend a sense of humor with dedication and empathy that I believe helps my clients develop a sense of ease as they work along their counseling journey.

Do you ever get a cold isolated feeling when everyone around you seems to know exactly what they want to do in life or at least who they are and how to get there? That stomach-dropping loneliness that leaves you wondering if you’ll ever belong? Or maybe you know what it’s like to stare at an insurmountable mountain between you and who you want to be. So instead you put what everybody else wants and needs first, and hope no one ever asks you these questions because you don’t know what you’d be able to tell them? If so, my name is Rowan Anastasia LLMSW and I am the therapist for you.

I’m so glad you’re here! If you’re anything like me, your path to this space had a lot of twists and turns, a lot of ups and downs, and maybe even a few accidents. You may be wondering how you got to this point and how to get back on a path that has meaning for you. You may be wondering how to decide what to do next. You’re looking for someone who will hear you, meet you where you are, and help you sort through the chaos with no judgment.

You've been taking care of others for as long as you can remember. You’ve always sacrificed your own well-being to help those around you. A friend broke up with her partner, so you’re the shoulder to cry on. There was a problem with a client at work, so you fixed it. Your husband and kids rely on you for everything from getting dressed to eating meals. “As long as everyone else is happy,” you tell yourself, “Then I’m fine.” But you’re not fine. You’ve completely lost touch with yourself and don’t have the time or energy to find your way back. You’re filled with guilt whenever you try to take a moment for yourself. It feels hopeless.
