I know life sometimes sends us challenges and difficulties. Losses, changes or everyday stress can become overwhelming and interfere with our enjoyment of life. When self-doubt and worry become all consuming it may be time to reach out for help.

As a certified Emotionally Focused therapist I help you move from disconnection and frustration to a more secure, trusting and loving bond within your most significant relationships. I work with individuals, couples, and families in identifying negative cycles and stuck patterns, which create barriers to meaningful connection. By discovering and sharing underlying emotions, you’ll begin to have new conversations right in the therapy room, which help you redefine the contours of your relationships and experience continued improvement after treatment has ended. I recognize that we all face challenges in life and sometimes we need someone to walk with us in those challenges to provide support and ask questions that help us regain our power. While I have a particular love for working with teens, young adults, and couples, I have a great deal of experience working with children and families as well. I love to harness each client’s individual strengths and interests including music, spirituality, reading, creative writing, anime, and video games to help identify your values and goals.

I believe that every individual, couple, and family has a story that they can change by gaining insight into their situation and making different choices. I partner with my clients to help them explore the options and tools available to them. Having spent years in the corporate and nonprofit arenas before embarking on my second career as a counselor, I bring real-world knowledge to my sessions. I am genuine with my clients, and sessions with me are just as likely to include laughter as they are tears. I treat each client with respect while asking tough questions that lead to productive conversations.

I have worked with clients of all ages and with different circumstances, including those with anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, sexual identity issues, and personality disorders, among other challenges. In my experience, clients come out of the experience feeling a sense of relief, as though a weight has been lifted off of their shoulders because someone finally sees and understands them! That's what I want for everyone who steps into my office - I want them to be seen, heard, understood, and loved.

Hello and thank you for considering me as a teammate in your journey to wellness! As a Counselor and Art Therapist, I work with clients and their support systems to achieve a state of health and wellness. You may have done therapy previously, or this may be your first time, but either way I will walk you through every step of this process providing education, support, warmth, and encouragement. I believe that all of us know what we need in our lives, and we are all capable of achieving our goals, but at times we may need new tools and a consistent encouraging support system to make progress.

My name is Mitchell Harmon (he/him) and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC-S). I have a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Kent State University. I believe that life is a series of transitions, and it is during these transitions that people experience their greatest struggles, and their greatest triumphs. Change is never easy, and most people are trying to live their greatest lives, but sometimes experience barriers to being the best that they can be. I consider it a privilege to help people become the greatest version of themselves.

If we are asking about my "ideal" client, I would say that it is someone who is open-minded. Someone who knows that having struggles is OKAY. Someone who knows that their flaws do not define them. We all have flaws, and that makes us human! It takes a STRONG person to be able to say "hey, this doesn't feel good, I think I need to ask for help", and then DO IT. Life outside of our control is already so chaotic, why not make attempts to bring peace into our lives?

I specialize in working with young adults and adults. I am passionate about working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, learning disabilities, self-esteem/body image, and other mental health concerns. During my work with clients, I use a trauma-informed approach that is rooted in acceptance and meeting the client where they are at in the present moment. I believe in a collaborative method where I work side by side with my client to set goals for therapy and identify coping skills that draw from their own unique personal strengths.

Welcome! I provide mental health, addiction, and marriage counseling to adults, teens, and couples for a variety of issues. I believe that the connection between client and counselor is very important so I work to create a comfortable, supporting, and warm environment for you. I use my personality to "feel" what's been going on and to try to better understand how it's been impacting you. My approach is very empowering which helps you to take back control of your life. Bad experiences may prevent us from reaching out, but sometimes it just takes the right person at the right time. I look forward to achieving success with you!

I have often explained the following analogy to motivate my patients to thrive: Replenish Your Well. The well water represents your resiliency; your ability to manage and respond appropriately to your environmental stressors. The bucket represents environmental and/or life stressors. Life is going to take buckets of water out of your well. Many people experience numerous life stressors, such as, financial problems, interpersonal relationship stressors, anxiety, depression, mood instability, etc.
