Whether you're seeking therapy for yourself or your relationship, you may be feeling disconnected, exhausted, embarrassed, angry, or many other emotions. Perhaps you long for better communication, greater intimacy, and rebuilt trust. In addition to working toward re-connection and love in your relationship, sex and sexuality are often difficult to talk about between couples. Creating a judgement-free space where you can explore these thoughts, feelings, and personal values is my highest priority as a therapist.

As you grew up and made your way through the world, you may have found yourself disconnected. You may have been told that who you are wasn't okay and needed to be changed to be acceptable. You may have found that your relationships don't feel as satisfying as you hoped they would be. You may, as a result, find yourself with that nagging feeling that no matter what, you're somehow too much and not enough all at the same time. As your therapist, I want to help you get back in touch with who you are so you can live more authentically into your values, identity, and desires.

Are you feeling anxious and overwhelmed? Struggling with hurts from your past? Want to develop healthy ways to handle stress? I help clients find relief from anxiety, heal from past trauma, and experience freedom from unhealthy ways of coping. I want to help you discover the “life worth living” as you define it. I aim to support my clients in moving from “talking” about their struggles to an ability to build the skills and make choices to move through them.

I hear folks on my therapy couch often ask these questions: "Why can't I get a hold on these anxious feelings?" "Why am I still repeating these same patterns?" "Why does (experience) bring up so much (emotion) for me?" I help adults and adolescents (16+) translate this curiosity into insight to develop emotion regulation skills, a sense of self rooted in integrity instead of shame, and more mindfulness in their relationships. I work mostly with anxiety, LGBTQIA+ issues, depression, emotion regulation difficulty, relationship issues, spirituality, and grief, including “identity grief” (grieving the life we thought we’d live).

You can't help but feel like everyone else has a good relationship with their mom but you. You want so badly to have that with her, but every time you manage to convince yourself "maybe this time will be different," it backfires. And you're left exhausted, disappointed, and asking yourself why you even try anymore. Or maybe you've tried the thing where you focus all your attention and time on her, hoping that helps keep the peace or somehow makes things better. But it actually just ends with your mom feeling great and you feeling like a hollow husk of a human who just got emotionally dumped on and zapped of all your energy.

I believe we can all use a little help sometimes. We all experience situations where we need some help figuring out how to move forward in life. It can feel like we've hit a wall and the ways we once faced our problems are no longer working for us. Or we've come up against something we never expected and we're not quite sure how to handle it. I think from the time we are little and through our different experiences we learn how to handle our problems and there can come a time when the way we've learned to handle things does not serve us well. Ultimately, I believe this can lead to incredible growth and an opportunity to re-evaluate.
