Hi, my name is Kiersten Kelley (she/her), the Owner, and Lesbian Therapist at Liberation Counseling, LLC, the place where social justice and counseling meet. Here at Liberation Counseling, you can access quality teletherapy and mental health and social justice resources. As a mixed queer woman and LGBTQ affirming therapist I see every day how environments and systems can affect our mental health and ability to heal and feel safe. That is why social justice and counseling go hand in hand in finding liberation. I work with adolescents and adults with challenges such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, identity, self-esteem, and trauma.

"I can't change your past or where you started, but I can help you to decide where you want to finish". I know how difficult is to struggle with anxiety, sadness and feeling stuck with your life. The good news is that you do not have to do it alone. I have a supportive space for you, where we can create a unique and meaningful therapeutic relationship in this difficult moment of your life. I am trained to guide you through unresolved struggles, grief, buried emotions, and underlying life-themes.

Most people feel when something is wrong, we notice symptoms that we do not feel well or people close to us make a comment about our behavior. At times, people don’t even realize that there might be something behind those symptoms that is making me feel or react certain way. Sometimes we have been feeling this way for so long that we get used to it, we think “that’s who I am”, we lose hope and motivation because we don’t think things can be different, we don’t know where to start or if there’s anything that can be done or if anyone can understand or help. Taking those first steps to move out of our comfort zone can create fear.

I am a co-founder of The Dwelling Place Church, Inc. and have served for nearly 15 years as a senior pastor. Throughout these years, I have also counseled many; however, since 2020 I am counseling as a professional pastoral counselor. I have earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology/Christian Counseling (2018), and a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Counseling (2020), both from Liberty University. I am currently working on earning a Doctorate Degree in Community Care/Pastoral Counseling. It is my desire to help individuals needing compassion, and also have the need to be understood.

As a Community Mental Health Center, we strive to provide a safe, supportive, confidential and non-judgmental environment for you to come to know yourself better.
