I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience treating a wide range of disorders. My psychodynamic background naturally lends itself to the exploration of unconscious conflicts and the profound impact of early experiences. However, I appreciate that the decision to seek treatment is often prompted by distress and I understand the importance of maintaining focus on the presenting problem. Understanding the past as it creates the present is hallmark ultimately to achieving a better quality of life.

I am passionate about guiding people along the path towards creating a life filled with purpose, hope, connection and joy. I help people navigate the obstacles that keep them from moving in the direction of what they value most. My approach to counseling is collaborative and creative. I know the importance of understanding the unique story of each person, family and couple. I encourage people to become the author of their own life stories so they can discover new meaning, clarity and appreciation as they move forward to write new chapters.

You're tired of solving things at the surface level and are looking to go deeper and truly understand WHY you are the way that you are. You know your childhood has impacted who you are, but you're not entirely sure how to change the impact of it now. On the outside, you might appear accomplished and put together, but on the inside, you're full of anxiety, self-doubt, and a fear of failure. Sometimes you're afraid of disappointing the people in your life and you don't always feel like you're living for yourself. You're internally exhausted and feel like it's almost impossible for you to truly relax.

I think that we need to be the safest when we are able to be with ourselves. I have also found that life has the ability to make that hard at times and through my own journey of struggling and learning about my mental health, I learned a lot about being human. I don't believe that we are born resilient, I believe it is built into us through getting knocked down and learning different ways of getting back up. This isn't always fun but it's always worth it. I am all about empowering my clients to learn who they are, so they can better love themselves, and be better able to obtain and maintain a happier and healthier life.

My clients often feel lost, stuck, without direction, or the ability to communicate and use their voice. Many of them go through relationship struggles, family strain, and loss of identity or self-love and need to be shown their value and why they are worth fighting for. Each client will receive an individualized treatment plan that includes identifying their core concerns and developing comprehensive steps that allow them to take one step at a time back towards where they deserve to be.

Eu acredito no processo terapêutico. E você?

I look forward to making this experience meaningful and to building a close and collaborative relationship with you. Therapy provides an opportunity to learn more about yourself and to learn how to continue moving forward with your life in a valued direction when you are feeling stuck. I believe in taking a compassionate and indvidualized approach to helping each person and their family find the support and learn the skills to continue moving their lives forward in an effective way.

Perhaps you are struggling with concerns like anxiety, depression, avoidance, burnout, or insecurity. Often, these issues stem from traumas of loss, missed opportunities, or marginalization. I can help you reconnect with parts of yourself that have been written off as problematic, unimportant, or overworked. Beyond feeling better, I can help you connect with the things and people in your life most worth living for, even when it requires taking a risk or feeling discomfort. I will work to hear and understand you as you are, help you clarify your personal and professional goals, and support yin taking action on your terms.

You feel overwhelmed and anxious. Sometimes you can’t relax and other times, you can’t get out of bed and just want to hide from the world. The constant self hating thoughts keep you stuck, and no matter what you do, nothing seems to change. You're told you're too sensitive and "get over it." Things happened that make you feel this way, and you can uncover how to unwire and heal it. I help smart, highly sensitive, overwhelmed individuals who are struggling with their stress, anxiety, trauma and relationship difficulties to heal what hurts, find calm inside and have healthy, fulfilling relationships.

You've been thinking about starting therapy for a while. On the outside you look like you have it all together, but you don't feel that way. Your life is good, but you just aren't happy. Sometimes you feel depressed or anxious and you don't know how to get out of it. You feel stuck and want things to change but need help making that happen. You aren't prioritizing self-care or setting healthy boundaries. Perhaps you are a college-aged female overwhelmed by the stress of school and responsibilities of being a young adult. Or are you an older adult who isn't finding the golden years to be so golden?

I understand life can be tough. You might be struggling with putting everyone else’s needs above your own, trying to balance career and family and feeling completely overwhelmed and exhausted. So often clients lose hope and feel defeated and it becomes impossible to remember their own strengths. Highlighting what is working and building upon your own strengths will help foster that confidence in your life and in your relationship that’s been lost.
