My name is Sarine and I am a bi-lingual Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor for MHC interns with over 15 years of clinical experience. I specialize in working with adolescents, adults, couples and families who are facing difficulties with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, conflict, life transitions, grief/loss and managing challenging behaviors in children and teens. Emotional pain goes by various labels--anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, unrewarding relationships, addiction, etc--but it has common pathways. Otherwise there would be no treatment for it. No one wants to feel pain. It hurts, by definition. But can you use your emotional pain to motivate yourself to address the the issues that cause it in the first place? Can you learn to reflect, understand, and respond versus react to your pain and flee from it? It takes time, but re-training your thinking and behavior can yield valuable benefits if you're willing to invest in yourself.

As a solution focused therapist, who trained at the University of Pennsylvania, my goal is to help empower you to find your own strengths. I approach therapy in a manner that will assist you to heal the wounds of your past, and deal with the issues of the present in a warm, nurturing, and non-judgmental manner. I'm a qualified clinical supervisor, and a certified EMDR therapist, with 20 years of experience working with many types of disorders. However, my areas of expertise are ADHD and learning differences, PTSD, dissociative disorders, chronic illness, family/relationship problems, anxiety, and depression.

I work with clients to address a wide range of concerns that cause personal distress, which can be experienced as feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and depressed. Moments of distress may also be marked by interpersonal difficulties with others, including family, friends, co-workers and partners, which can also be explored in therapy. In my work with couples, I carefully attune to each person's needs, as well as, to the couple as a whole. I also work with clients to pinpoint areas of communication that can be strengthened, developing stronger communication abilities that can positively affect other life areas as well.

Peggy Rios is a bilingual Licensed Psychologist with her Doctorate in Counseling Psychology. Peggy has 22 years of experience working with diverse populations and specializes in working with adults and adolescents in individual, couple and family therapy, as well as teaching mindfulness and meditation.
