My approach is largely cognitive-behavioral. This means that I believe that one’s thought patterns contribute to one’s feelings and behaviors, and in changing faulty thought processes, we can achieve improvement. My work is solution-focused, which means that I push toward change, setting concrete, attainable goals. I also believe that we are products of our environments. Kimbro Burnett counseling is evolving. I am moving to a different format. I am offering EMDR and or Internal Family Systems Processing in 6 to 8 week intensives in my office with sessions in between that will be online. The next intensive will start August 5th and run for 6 weeks. The focus is past traumas, childhood trauma (which we all have some) and emotional and physical trauma in adulthood, and uncovering what is holding you back now.
