Children and Families have been my passion for the duration of my professional career. Specializing in services to Pre-Kindergarten to college seniors, I utilize a strength-based supportive counseling approach to overcome challenges within and outside the family system. As a passionate and impactful School Counselor, I help students and their families navigate their complex worlds to live a knowledge-rich, healthy, happy life. As a mental health professional, I understand the unique nature of individual school culture that supports and sometimes challenges children. I provide non-school-based supportive counseling services.

As a counselor, I believe in building a strong therapeutic relationship with clients and meeting them where they are in their lives. I believe in working together to improve overall daily functioning and wellness along with restoring health after trauma and life’s difficult moments. My goal in therapy is to create a safe space to help clients enhance their stress management, advance their use of coping skills and communication skills, and reframe negative thought processes along with working through any history of trauma. I am very open to feedback from my clients as I want therapy to be as effective as possible for you.

Over the past 17 years, I have worked with clients as they address the impact of trauma, challenging life situations, and grief. My clients have often faced some of the most difficult experiences imaginable, and our work together is focused on resolving these traumas, developing a better understanding of themselves, and creating a more fulfilling life. This can often be done without reliving painful memories, but with a focus on releasing burdens and working toward internal integration and harmony.

My ideal clients are looking for a person centered therapist to help with their family, children, jobs and life transitions. The client will want help with facing challenges which impact their daily lives where they are ready for change. Goals will be to help the client lower stress and increase self confidence in changing the current situation. This may be learning new coping skills, changing negative thoughts, and creating boundaries and structure within relationships. Clients will want to gain more confidence in their making the correct decisions to make their lives and relationships better.

We have helped many clients and their families with their immigration cases. We can complete a clinical evaluation for Waivers, U-Visa, VAWA, Cancellation of Removal, T Visa, and Political Asylum cases.

Over the several decades I have been in practice, I have enjoyed a large number of approaches to the different and complex problems that face people. Twilynn has over 20 years experience working in the Human Services Industry. She provides individual, couple, and family therapy in a private practice setting. She specializes in working with those who suffer from depression, have experienced trauma and abuse, experience anxiety and stress, have communication challenges within their family system, and/or have difficulty in making life transitions. She has extensive experience working with adolescents addressing, self-esteem issues, teaching decision-making and problem solving skills, and working through school related issues. Twilynn also has extensive experience working with the LGBT community.
