Hello, I have experience working with adolescents and adults with complex trauma, anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress disorder, in outpatient and inpatient settings. My mission is to provide you with a safe and non judgmental environment, that empowers your ability to attain and reach your treatment plan goals. I strive to provide goal-directed, competent, and strength based services that promote social-emotional development to decrease mental health challenges.

As a therapist specializing in both young children and young adult women, I recognize the unique challenges each group faces. For children aged 7 to 11, struggles with self-esteem, sadness, friendships, and school can be overwhelming. They may retreat inward when distressed, making it hard for parents to connect. Moreover, the burden of worrying excessively about others’ opinions can drown out their voices. Parents, while supportive, often find themselves unsure of how best to help. In my practice, I specialize in Play Therapy and Child-Centered approaches, offering a safe environment for children to explore their emotions.

There's no need to be anybody but yourself. Understanding ourselves can feel harmonious and at other times exhausting. You might feel lost, isolated, and disconnected. These are very real, human feelings, and I am committed to help you navigate all of them. As a practicing therapist, I aim to provide the mental health support I want for my wife, family, friends, and myself. Therapy that is rooted in love. As a Black Trans-Masculine, I know how hard it can be to understand, love, and believe in yourself when surrounding environments reject uniqueness. I work with younger people (10-12), adolescents (13-18), emerging adults (19-29), and older clients. In addition to depression/anxiety, my work with younger people includes divorce, school, peer, and various other behavioral issues; with adolescents: freedom/responsibility, identity formation, emotion regulation, and effective communication; with emerging adults: career counseling, independent living, and addressing unfinished business. I also have a background in high school education. With all clients I meet them where they're at and strive to unlock their greatest potential.

From the moment an individual or couple walks through my door, I advocate for feelings of safety and understanding. My special interest in supporting first responders and medical professionals has taught me how necessary it is to use defense mechanisms to survive painful experiences and relationships. Sometimes these defense mechanisms enter into other areas of our lives and keep us from feeling safe, secure, confident, and connected. With every step you take in your healing journey, I will walk alongside offering effective tools, humor and metaphors, and endless empathy for you to create the life you want to live.

I am a Licensed Master of Social Work specializing in individual and family therapy in the East Cobb area - specifically adolescents, young adults, and their families. My main focus and specialty is helping those suffering with substance use and addiction. Having been down my own path of addiction and now recovery, I am able to truly know where you have been and have sat in your same seat. Along with substance use, I work with individuals having difficulty with their depression, anxiety, and learning to launch into their next stage of life.

Let’s face it, asking for help can be one of the most difficult things to do. It might seem easier to search online and try to figure things out by yourself. Looking things up online is convenient, but the value of person-to-person communication with a professional who applies evidenced-based care in a safe and supportive setting is irreplaceable. I assist with life challenges such as anxiety/stress, trauma recovery/PTSD, relationship issues, communication issues, conflict management, adjustment issues, spirituality, transitions into new phases of life, and managing mental health symptoms in general.

Regardless of what brings you to counseling, my goal is to truly understand you as a human being and the unique perspectives, experiences, and identities that you bring into the room and how best to support and challenge you in your growth. You are the expert of your own life and my goal is to explore with you what your hope is for counseling and how I can help get you there. I view the therapeutic relationship as one of the most important factors in counseling and value a trusting, genuine relationship where clients feel comfortable providing feedback and collaborating on their counseling.

I enjoy working with both couples and individuals. Couples therapy can consist of troubles with communication, sex therapy concerns such as education, dysfunctions, lack of desire/interest, pain in sexual activity, medication side effects, and anxiety/depression related to sexual issues, post-affair recovery, and relationship conflict across the lifespan. I also work with those struggling with depression, anxiety, relational problems, including family systems. Starting this journey can feel awkward at first, but I am here to provide a safe environment for you to process and address a variety of your concerns.

My ideal client is one who is motivated to be honest with themself (and me) and be willing to make life changes. They would be willing to take a look at how their thinking is affecting their moods and be open to guidance as to how to FEEL better.
