My greatest strength is building that strong therapeutic alliance to build that trusting relationship that feels safe to really look deep into your self for that growth.
My ideal client are the ones who tried therapy in the past, felt like it didn't match or work as well as they had wanted and are hesitant to try again but hold out hope that they can have the life they always wanted. One of the greatest feelings I have as a therapist is watching a client is seeing a client go from lack of confidence and hope to to a place of confidence, peace and happiness.

Having worked extensively with children, adolescents and their families, I would say my ideal client is pre-teen to adult working through behavioral struggles including impulse control, defiance, hyperactivity, etc. I work closely with and honor the family unit and also work with couples, relationship and marriage counseling for the betterment of that unit. I also have worked with and specialize in treatment of dual diagnosis, particularly when addictive behaviors are a primary concern. Being trained in ASAM criteria I also work with additive behaviors in both adolescent and adults.

I believes the counseling relationship is a grace space where healing and transformation take place.
Just relax, they said - and you want to, but you feel like you can't! What if something goes wrong? It did that one time. You are not alone: many people spend their time dealing with thoughts, emotions, or images that are intrusive and time-consuming. If you are tired of feeling trapped inside your head, there is hope. My passion is helping people get unstuck from thoughts and feelings related to past and present experiences including childhood and adult trauma, OCD (Obsessive-compulsive Disorder), and other anxiety and depression related issues and back into living life.

Whether I am helping clients navigate relationship wounds, digging into attachment, making room for personal growth, or processing the impact of trauma, I utilize evidence-based practices that promote person-centered and strength-focused approaches.
I believe it is crucial for those seeking counseling to encounter a safe and compassionate environment. My goal is to meet clients where they are with warmth, connection, faith in their ability to achieve the outcomes they desire, compassionate challenge, and even humor. I hope that clients leave their therapy experience with increased awareness and insight, new skills, a sense of relief, and expanded knowledge about themselves, others and the world around them.

In my role as a counselor, I support individuals who have experienced trauma or pain in their lives. Much of my work focuses on processing trauma, building awareness, and practicing doing something different. I have a special interest in assisting clients through relationship concerns, personality disorders, and dysfunctional families. The people that I work with often feel stuck in unhealthy patterns of behaving, thinking, and feeling. Counseling offers you the intentional space to explore those stuck points and build new patterns to sustain a satisfying life.

If you are hurting or confused or just curious, counseling can be very helpful for improving your quality of life. I've worked with many issues for more than 12 years, each as unique as the individual or couple, but the list on my full profile will give you a general idea. It's always a pleasure to meet new people and build therapeutic relationships.

The most profound force is a person’s ability to heal. Life can deal its chaos and turmoil to anyone, but I believe that we are all on our own path toward wholeness. When we lose ourselves for a time, problems such as anxiety, depression, or addiction may arise. My priorities as a therapist are to be a collaborator and guide to nurture the growth and healing that is already occurring in you. I strive to bring a relational style to the therapeutic process knowing that it is sacred–yet potentially painful and intimidating–to ‘bear one’s soul’ to another. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and seek to create a warm and welcoming space for all.

Life is beautiful but also challenging. At times those challenges can seem overwhelming and never ending. We all need some support along the way. Thankfully we do not have to walk that path alone. I desire to walk alongside others in whatever journey they may be on. I would love to come alongside you and take you down a road of exploration and restoration. I have experience treating depression, anxiety, self-worth, relational issues, personal growth, grief and loss, and attachment issues. I hope we can work together to bring more peace, fulfillment and beauty back into your life!

As a Christian therapist, I have provided faith-integrated marriage and family therapy to individuals, couples, and families for nearly 30 years, but my current clinical focus is treating the impact of trauma using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). You may be in a place of pain or emotional reactivity because of deep childhood injuries, exposure to combat, or the impact of secondary trauma from your work as a medical provider, a first responder, a pastor, or a missionary. I would be honored to hear your story and help you process through your experiences to a place of peacefulness and renewed hope.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
