I use a strengths-based approach to therapy. Treatment builds on your positive traits and the things that are working in your life. In couples work, the perspective of each participant is heard and then I help you to find common ground or understanding. I take a solution-focused approach to help you resolve conflict. I work with adults, couples and families. I see women who have had trauma in their past, such as abuse and neglect. I also work with individuals who are in transition and need some clarity.

Are you not feeling like yourself? Have you been feeling “stuck”, have you experienced emotional or relational trauma, struggle with Depression, or engage in self-criticism; I can help. As a therapist, I created a space where you can heal and just BE. While in therapy, you will overcome trauma, manage your depression/ anxiety, walk away from self-criticism and lean towards self-compassion and self-love. While my specialties include trauma and depression, I enjoy working with millennial women of color who experience anxiety, find it hard to manage life transitions, stress, and workplace trauma. I also offer LCSW Supervision.

In this work we will focus upon improving healthy boundaries and self-advocacy, learn healthy communication styles, and master the skills to navigate life transitions, anxiety and conflict in healthy ways.
Do you ever wonder where the instruction manual is for being an adult? It sure seems like there should be one. Adulthood is full of transitions, relationships to navigate, changes to adjust to, as well as unexpected circumstances that can lead us to feeling an overwhelming amount of uncertainty. And sometimes all that uncertainty leads us to feeling quite off balance, such that it’s not manageable anymore or at least gives us insight it certainly could be better! The good news is there is a way to gain or improve your sense of confidence and resiliency in the face of life's uncertain moments.

If you are feeling anxious, or struggling to know and express how you feel, therapy is a great place to start. It can be hard to trust yourself, and believe you are worthy. You may feel guilty speaking up for yourself or taking time for self care. It can be hard to feel better on your own. Your challenges can't be solved by doing the same things you've always done. I believe everyone is their own best healer, but it can be hard without support. I can help you discover why you feel the way you do, help you believe you are worth committing to change, and find practical ways to feel better and move forward in your life.

Each dimension comprehensively works together promoting a healthy and balanced lifestyle, ultimately improving the overall quality of life.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have acquired a plethora of knowledge that has provided me the tools to serve individuals with various mental illnesses and co-occurring disorders. My goal as a therapist is to help people get through the lousy times, not by removing the garbage, but by walking with them so they can see it is survivable.

Ready to embrace a more authentic and satisfying life?.
I'm glad you are seeking help for life's challenges! My passion is to see you living to your full potential through greater consciousness and self-awareness. Tackling difficult issues together can make them less daunting, while uncovering and understanding self-defeating patterns can facilitate lasting change. Using a Jungian/depth psychological approach, we will jointly identify opportunities to grow beyond these problematic areas, gain insight and explore techniques to move towards a more rewarding life. Learning to sit with suffering can liberate us from its bondage and promotes self-compassion, both essential for mental health.

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
