Whether you are facing challenges with substance abuse, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, divorce, parenting or co-parenting, partner relationships, trauma recovery, career stressors or life transitions, there is hope. I match treatment interventions based upon your needs, however I tend to use treatment approaches that are solution focused and trauma informed. I am a direct and active therapist using humor when appropriate. I utilize EMDR, Life Coaching, Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive-Behavioral approaches in my work.

I use a strengths-based approach to therapy. Treatment builds on your positive traits and the things that are working in your life. In couples work, the perspective of each participant is heard and then I help you to find common ground or understanding. I take a solution-focused approach to help you resolve conflict. I work with adults, couples and families. I see women who have had trauma in their past, such as abuse and neglect. I also work with individuals who are in transition and need some clarity.

Are you in a place of exploration? Are you seeking to understand your true essence? The person you're meant to be...the person you want to be? These questions and curiosities can be daunting at times. How do you successfully navigate the pressures and demands of life (i.e., adulting) while at the same time presenting your authentic self? And not necessarily for other people, but most of all for yourself! Counseling is a way to find those answers. The comfort of counseling will allow you space and freedom to explore you...without judgement.

Through the use of evidence based interventions you can reconnect authentically with others; learn how to tolerate emotions and engage situations and relationships differently; rediscover your values and purpose; create a life worth living - where you thrive instead of strive; and nourish your body without worrying about how or if you're doing it right.
Are you caught in cycles that leave you exhausted? Do you want to have better relationships but find them splintering? Are you self-critical in your efforts to obtain perfection? Do you find yourself shutting down or shutting off? You don't have to suffer in silence. Nor do you have to leave any part of yourself behind - I work with the whole person. Our identities often intersect with our struggles and our strengths. I'll meet you where you're at, and help you get where you're going. Whether you are just starting or looking to maintain your recovery from eating disorders, trauma and/or OCD, together recovery is possible.

Anxiety, depression, anger, conflict, children acting out, feeling chronic stress, panic attacks, experiences of trauma, searching for meaning, feeling empty, hopeless or helpless - these are all flashing lights on the dashboard of life telling us that something is not working properly.
I believe there is meaning in symptoms. We are designed to thrive. When something is out of balance our mind/body/spirit/relationships present symptoms to ask us to pay attention. I specialize in helping people discover what needs their attention. Then, I help people learn new skills so they are equipped to respond more effectively to their needs. I offer support as people practice necessary changes in their thoughts, managing their emotions, and interacting with others and their circumstances. Finally, I encourage and guide people as they seek to fully actualize their potential.

I believe it shouldn’t be so hard to live a better life.
Do you feel stressed out and overwhelmed balancing parenthood with your career and relationships? Do you wake up exhausted and dreading the day? If you’re struggling to balance life’s demands and be at your best, now is a good time to connect with an experienced therapist who can help. Now more than ever parents are feeling overwhelmed and uncertain on how to juggle their kids, spouses, careers, and their own well-being. Prioritizing others first while putting your own needs last can work a little, but leads to longer-term issues like burnout, depression, and chronic stress. You don't want to burden your friends and family either.

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
