9/21/23: I am finally retiring, for real this time. After fifty years in the mental health field, I am writing a new chapter, both literally and figuratively. Thanks to all of the mentors, colleagues, and friends who have supported my growth as a therapist through the years. Most of all, I am grateful for the many people who have honored me by allowing me to be their partners in healing.

I would like to congratulate you for taking the time to explore therapy. I know that finding the right therapist can take time and energy; it is a decision that shouldn't be taken lightly. I approach my clients with a positive & hopeful attitude as we work with one another. The people I have had the privilege to work with describe my style as warm, compassionate, interactive, and collaborative. I enjoy helping people navigate the complexities of life to gain better understanding of themselves, their relationships and to ultimately find wisdom, answers and resolutions to the reasons that have brought you into therapy.

We can think of the therapeutic process as a sort of metamorphosis. Like the caterpillar transforms into a butterfly, we all enter the world with everything we need within us to become our very best selves. However, in order to make that transformation possible, we each require a safe and supportive space to grow. Unfortunately, many of us never had the opportunity to experience that space. This could be due to growing up with unavailable or abusive attachment figures, taking on adult roles at an early age, experiencing isolation and rejection from our peers, etc. This is where therapy can come in - acting as a sort of cocoon.
