I specialize in relationship and couples counseling, parenting issues, ADHD, behavioral and school-related concerns about children, anxiety, depression, self-esteem (negative thoughts), and anger management.
Many of us are fortunate to have friends and family who listen to our problems and concerns. But, sometimes, that may not be enough and we need the help and guidance of a skilled and experienced professional. We also want to be sure that we are getting an objective and unbiased opinion. I am a very active participant in the sessions, giving feedback and making suggestions. Most people come in with specific "here and now" issues they want to resolve. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is one of several approaches useful in addressing both current issues and those of longer duration.

I view therapy as a collaboration between therapist and client. I strive to make clients feel at ease and work best with clients seeking aid in managing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, perinatal/postpartum concerns, peer relationship problems, ADHD, and parenting concerns. In counseling, being open and honest is one of the most important aspects of the process. As it can be very difficult to be vulnerable, I strive to create a welcoming atmosphere and will always be honest in return to my clients.

Waitlist for new clients
My experience includes working with clients diagnosed with ASD, Personality Disorders, ADHD, DMDD, ODD, Bipolar Disorder, BPD, Depression, PTSD and Anxiety.
Not currently able to accept new clients. I firmly believe in holistic wellness and cater my practice towards helping my clients to achieve their goals. Therapy is only effective when it meets your needs and caters towards you as your own unique self. Therapy is also an expenditure when it comes to time, money and energy. I work collaboratively with my clients to ensure you receive the quality care you deserve. When we combine our strengths, we can create a well-balanced therapeutic relationship.

Hello! I love working with kids, teens, and their parents on responding to big, overwhelming feelings. I’m also passionate about supporting women transitioning to motherhood and those coping with the day to day stressors of being busy parents. I can assist parents in managing their own symptoms of ADHD, anxiety, and/or executive dysfunction while parenting. Another area of passion is helping teens and adults move away from rigid, disordered eating and towards the freedom of intuitive eating through improving their distress tolerance and self-compassion.

This is a problem solving practice. From inside a painful situation, it is often very hard to understand what is going wrong, or how to move forward when you may not really have a sense of where forward is right now. Sometimes, when we think we can't do things differently, it's just that we don't know how. That doesn't mean that every problem has a quick fix, but once you see it for what it is, there is usually help. Things can be better.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
