For 25 years, I've provided counseling for children, adolescents and adults dealing with a range of personal, emotional and mental health issues. In a quiet, relaxed setting, I work with clients to develop effective communication, decision making and problem solving skills to deal with challenges they face. I incorporate extensive training in cognitive, behavioral, dialectical and family therapy as well as relaxing breathing, storytelling and metaphors to help clients achieve more balanced, fulfilling lives.

What keeps me growing as a professional and drives me to do what I do, are the individuals and families that I have the privilege to work with everyday. There are times in all of our lives when we need to reach out for support and encouragement and to know that we are not alone. I have extensive experience in the field of trauma, in particular with survivors of childhood sexual abuse, child abuse, and child neglect. When working with this population, I have treated issues ranging from but not limited to PTSD, depression, anxiety, attachment, and anger.

Children, adolescents and young adults sometimes experience stress related to school, activities, challenges at home, or periods of transition. These stressors may lead to mood swings, changes in behavior and difficulty expressing emotions and thoughts. My role as a therapist is to help kids and young adults cope with stress and learn strategies to maintain an emotionally balanced life. I provide a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and then work with individuals and families to develop an individualized treatment plan that draws from the client's existing strengths. I utilize evidence-based treatment primarily drawing from CBT.

I believe that you have the capability to help yourself, but perhaps you need my knowledge and support to do so. My purpose is to help you tap into your strengths and what you already know about yourself, and help you to change your thoughts in order to change how you feel. My goal is to empower you and guide you toward your goals, whether they involve improving your family relationships, managing anxiety or depression, or dealing with work or school stressors.

I specialize in the clinical treatment of women, their children and families. Women are unique from any other clinical group and deserve to get individualized services tailored to meet their needs. My goal is to empower women, help alleviate their symptoms and address their personal goals for wellness. It is of utmost importance that my clients feel safe, respected and supported.

How many profiles have you read trying to find a therapist? I'm sure it's been too many. I'll make this quick - if you're suffering from self harm- including all types of cutting, bingeing, restriction, purging, etc, or OCD, you may be able to pause here. I use a very targeted approach that is highly effective if people do the work. If you're willing to do the sometimes painful work, I'm ready to be there with you, experiencing it, witnessing it, sitting in it with you. I come to session as myself, using humor and direct and relational communication.
