I am a client-centered therapist working with individuals and with a specialty in couple and family work . I am attachment and psychodynamically trained. I use my dance background as a useful tool to further understand the body signals as information to guide me towards creating a workable creative partnership and family unit . I use a combination of cognitive behavioral tools to understand the language we use in our relationships and our past family interactions which guide us toward a workable and balanced way of living in partnership with others . My training in trauma, anxiety, sexual concerns guide my work with my patients .

Life is something that is always throwing us curve balls! Regardless of what your life has thrown at you over the years, it is never too late or too early to start working on yourself. From work-life stressors to the loss of a loved one or even relationship concerns and anything in between are possible experiences that we can have. I believe that therapy is a collaborative journey where we work together to uncover underlying issues and develop practical strategies for growth and healing. My goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions freely.

I am passionate about my role as a therapist to provide support and a safe environment for processing life's challenges. I have a passion for working with first responders, as I spent some time as a first responder myself. I also hold a passion for working with survivors of trauma. I feel strongly that every person is whole and has everything they need for success when given the right circumstances. While the stress and trauma presented by life can seem overwhelming, there are many ways to move forward. My goal is to help provide hope and a foundation for each client to reach their destination.

I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and families. Most of my experience has been with anxiety, depression & family conflict. I believe it is important for me to have a collaborative professional relationship with each client so that we can collectively meet the client's needs.

It's hard to know how to choose a counselor. I'm happy to meet for an hour or two at no charge to help you find someone. I believe that one's thinking and beliefs are important, but certainly there is an emotional component that is key as well. I find that people feel a lot better when they feel their lives are moving forward. I am best at trauma, anxiety, and panic. I enjoy working with couples, singles who are dating, and people struggling with fatigue. I have much experience with fire service personnel, and some experience with military. I am best with traumas that occurred as an adult.

Are you feeling hopeless, or more lethargic than usual? Have you recently experienced a death/loss? Are you experiencing difficulties adjusting to a new environment? If your answer to any of these questions is "Yes", or have questions of your own, it may be time to reach out and talk through those thoughts and feelings.

Not accepting new clients
My approach to therapy is creative and collaborative. I believe each individual – no matter their age or gender identity – is unique and should have a therapist who is genuine, practices unconditional positive regard, and has empathic understanding. In session, I will approach the client where they are and with what they may currently be experiencing. My approach starts with building a positive, warm, and trusting relationship. This will provide a foundation of support, encouragement, and connection, and after that the work can truly begin. I do not expect a client to work harder in our relationship than I am willing to do myself.

I specialize in treating adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress/burnout, and chronic illness. Many present as independent, resilient, and appear “put together” to others. Internally, they feel unfulfilled, overwhelmed, and struggle to manage their emotional well-being. They can often recall impactful life events but are unsure how to recognize and/or process emotions surrounding them. These individuals recognize that their usual way of “pushing through” isn’t enough and are ready to explore healthier, more sustainable ways of moving forward.

At its core, disconnection from ourselves, our family, or even our community is the root cause of many of our challenges. Whether you're experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship dissatisfaction, or triggers from past traumas, we'll work together to repair your emotional and attachment wounds. Ultimately, my goal is to work collaboratively to help you cultivate balance and the skills that you need so that your mental health challenges no longer prevent you from achieving your goals.

While I am personally accepting limited inquiries, clinicians at my practice have immediate availability! We all want to grow and thrive personally, socially, professionally. My goal is to create a safe space for clients to be able to open up about themselves and their needs. I’m a firm believer that therapy is a team effort. It can only be done if both counselor and client come together to accomplish goals together. I especially like helping clients to reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, and trauma. I have experience helping teens and young people to work towards goals to better their life.

Sam has over a decade worth of experience in the mental health field. Prior to licensure, he worked on a residential unit for adolescents who suffered from behavioral and mental health illnesses. There, he worked closely with the students to learn, manage, and navigate effective life skills. In 2016, Sam attended Loyola University’s clinical mental health counseling program to further his skills and obtain licensure to practice as a clinical mental health counselor. Sam utilized an eclectic model of psychotherapy to provide a customized and adaptable approach for his clients.

Just as you don't click with every person you meet in the world, you won't mesh with every therapist. And I want to make sure you have a good experience in therapy! As a career changer myself, I work well with professionals who are feeling stuck in certain areas of their life and can't seem to figure it out with the same tools they have used in the past. I love to assist people in mobilizing strengths they already have (like being analytical) and building new capacities (like sitting with tough emotions and listening to the body). Trauma, relationships, family dynamics, identity, and sexual concerns come up a lot in our sessions.
