Sometimes life sits heavy on our shoulders. This past year has been especially difficult- isolating, ever changing and transforming “normal” as we knew it. We need support along the way to untie knots, approach new solutions and receive warm support, especially during difficult chapters in life. I am a licensed clinical social worker, specializing in helping individuals find solutions with a supportive, problem solving approach. You can expect that therapy with me will prioritize understanding your individual needs and collaboration.

In the last ten years I have worked with clients in a variety of settings; outpatient, in-home, intensive outpatient, legal systems, clinic, and emergency room. I have also worked with a variety of needs; anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, autism, attachment disorder, other trauma related disorders, suicidal and self-injury thoughts/behaviors. In working with clients, I have seen so much resiliency. I have witnessed so much strength that often goes unnoticed by the individual them self. I find that once a client is able to identify their strength, they are able to identify their solution.

My goal as a professional counselor is to provide genuine support and assistance to people looking to heal, make meaningful improvements, and solve problems in their lives. My approach is client-centered, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I believe that the most significant and lasting changes come from within. My role in the therapeutic relationship is to help facilitate self-discovery in my clients. This process helps bring to the surface the strengths they possess which will assist them in functioning in the most productive and emotionally balanced manner possible.

Life can be overwhelming at times. There are many things pulling at us from all directions - family, children, work, other people - that we lose ourselves in the process. Are you trying to find out who you are and what your purpose is? Have you been trying to please others and neglecting yourself? These can contribute to a suffering that comes out as anxiety, depression, anger, addiction, low self-esteem, or just a general dissatisfaction with life. I believe we are meant to find meaning for our lives, fulfillment in what we do and happiness in our relationships. I can help you discover this person that you are meant to be.

Life can be overwhelming at times. Both our own choices and the choices of others can have long-lasting consequences on our emotional and mental health. I have experience working with survivors of emotional, verbal, physical, and sexual abuse; those struggling with anxiety and depression; and clients in life-stage transition (i.e. young adults transitioning from college to career, postpartum women, or empty nesters).

You have exhausted your resources trying to solve your current challenges and are seeking outside counsel, maybe for the first time. It feels daunting, seeking out a stranger to share what has been going on and wondering where to start. You come with strengths like perseverance - it has gotten you this far and you continue to seek answers. You are curious and willing to ask questions. You have courage, to share what is happening, to come as you are. You are someone who appreciates learning and is open to new perspectives because as Einstein said - “No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it."

Do you feel like your emotions get the best of you? Do you wonder why things get under your skin and pull you into a spiral, even if part of you knows it's not rational? Do you live your life trying to avoid anxiety or sadness? Does self-criticism or feelings of worthlessness keep you stuck feeling like you're not who you'd like to be? Maybe you want to finally stop trying to run from your feelings and want to learn how to express them. Maybe your comfort zone has become stifling and you're ready to be break free.
