My passion is supporting adolescents and young adults as they navigate through the changes in life. Our work together will aim to deepen your understanding of who you are now and who you want to be. When transitions happen you may experience anxiety, depression, stress, mood changes, trauma, self esteem issues, school avoidance, or body image issues. It is important to have a support system in place as we manage these changes. During our work together I will support you as you determine what path you would like to take in life. When I work with families it is to support them to stay connected during these times.

The family is the foundation upon which we develop our understanding of how to interact and form relationships with people. The family is where we develop our first understanding of how to deal with various emotions such as anger, love, happiness, and sadness. It is also where we learn to manage conflict. I believe in taking the strengths and values that already exist within a family and using them to enhance family relationships and Inspire its members to live a healthier and happier life.

It is truly a privilege to be invited into the lives of others during a therapy session. If you've ever felt like the weird friend, you're my people. I have eclectic interests and tend to think outside of the box. I have crunchy roots combined with extensive academic training and experience to bring a balanced perspective of what many people would consider "alternative therapies."

Do you find yourself in a relationship where communication and connection seem impossible? You’re often left wondering how things deteriorated to this point. The hurt, loneliness, and fear of what comes next are overwhelming. Conversations frequently turn into arguments, leading to more disconnection and confusion, filling you with hopelessness and frustration. Despite the love you still have for each other, nothing seems to work anymore. It’s hard to believe your relationship has come to this, especially since you both are smart, hardworking, kind, and caring individuals. Where did things go wrong?

We are bombarded with messages daily that we are not good enough just as we are. When we don't feel good about ourselves, our self-esteem and relationships can often pay the price. But there can be healing; we can learn to speak to ourselves with more kindness, and our relationships can once again flourish. As a Marriage & Family Therapist and Certified Sex Therapist, I am uniquely able to understand the complex relationships between all the areas of your life.

To me, counseling is about management; management of relationships with others, the relationship you have with yourself, management of anxiety and everyday stressors. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I incorporate a variety of treatment modalities including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Mindfulness and Motivational Interviewing. However, I take an eclectic approach to understanding each individual client by utilizing Adlerian Theory in addition to CBT. I also believe that physical health has strong implications for mental health and it is important to treat both.

Parents can hold shame, self-reproach, frustration, and helplessness over a child’s distress; children fear, disgrace, anger, disquiet. Such dynamics summon my expertise. Mood disturbance, anxiety, panic, and maladjustment manifest as aversion to separation, school refusal, flawed coping mechanisms, pervasive woe. My approach allows vulnerability to speak. Individuals emerge from our process prepared to ably navigate their world by developing and honing effective strategies to ameliorate symptoms. More profoundly, they are empowered to not just push through travail, but to mindfully sit with it long enough to seed proper growth.
