I offer an integrative approach based on your personal needs.
I am most well suited to help people working through life transitions, difficult relationships, trauma and anxiety. I also find I work particularly well with people drawn to visual imagery and other nonverbal experience. While verbal expression is essential, we all also carry internal images, physiological and emotional expressions that can stretch well beyond words. I find working efficiently with these nonverbal elements can generate deeper connections and expand therapeutic potentials in very effective ways. What kinds images come to mind when you think about your life experience? What kinds of sounds and smells?

I studied Integrative Psychiatry after 2 decades of working in Women's Health as a Nurse Midwife and doing counseling & conflict resolution as a mediator.
Clients come to me for current concerns, acute circumstances or to resolve issues related to longstanding challenges. "Integrative Psychiatry" involves a dynamic partnership with a focus on each client's individual needs, meaningful collaboration, a holistic/preventive perspective, therapy and the option for medication management. We all have unique goals, styles of learning and timelines for care and recovery. As a practitioner I value my clients' current situation and offer brief psychotherapy as well as ongoing therapy with or without pharmacological treatments.

I’m also the owner and director of a small group practice of holistic and integrative psychotherapists who take a variety of insurances and have immediate openings.
Many of my clients are adults asking the "who am I" questions. They come to me to explore, express & discover themselves, perhaps for the first time or perhaps as part of a lifelong process. Whether anxiety or depression, a trauma, transition, or relationship trouble, feeling stuck or overwhelmed, or simply being new to New York first sent them to me, what they all have in common is a desire to feel more authentic, more connected & more at ease, and to live life with more joy, passion & purpose. I combine talk therapy with somatic therapies to help you reach your goals, embody your true self, and live the life you want to live.

I use an integrative framework, pulling from PsychoDynamic Theory, CBT, DBT and ACT based on what might best meet your needs.
Therapy is a collaborative process. Every individual is unique and going on this journey is the first step to you working towards becoming your best self. This looks different for everyone, so I like to start with a free consultation call so we can see if its a good fit. I have worked in Mental Health for over a decade. I have experience with crisis intervention in the community, working with individuals/families. For the last several years, my focus has been talk therapy, with a mindfulness approach, assisting folks going through life transitions, experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout to improve stress and symptom management.

I have an integrative approach looking to use the "here-and-now" to access the "there-and-then" & utilize experiential modalities like AEDP, IFS & Somatic Experiencing.
Whether you have experienced the agony of a significant Trauma or the hidden devastation of prolonged emotional trauma, these experiences can lead to fractures in a person's sense of self, adaptive capacity and inner cohesion, often resulting in anxiety, depression, somatic disorders, self-esteem difficulties and interpersonal struggles. Using a blend of different perspectives with empathy and understanding, I aim to foster a supportive therapeutic relationship and create a holding space to process painful experiences, deepen insight into thoughts and feelings, and build connections with the felt sense in the body.

My approach is integrative and tailored to the needs of each individual patient.
The fundamental core of my practice is the belief that each individual has the capacity for wisdom, growth and change with respect to his/her own life. I trust that the potential that is necessary for change is within each person, but this capacity may not always be evident or accessible. As a clinician, I believe that one of the most important components of psychotherapy is having an atmosphere which is supportive, patient, validating and compassionate. I approach my patients with integrity and a commitment to help you create a higher quality of life that resonates with your true self.

My integrative orientation uses psychodynamic, cognitive, interpersonal, mindfulness, and positive psychology techniques to help you achieve the better life you envision for yourself.
Psychotherapy can be a challenging and rewarding process. Of course, people come to treatment to talk about what's wrong, but it is also important to talk about what's right. Each person has natural areas of strength we can further develop to help increase coping skills, reduce distress, improve relationships, and develop a more positive outlook.

As an integrative therapist, I draw from a variety of different modalities; my work as a trauma-informed yoga instructor and meditation teacher also influences my practice.
Whatever brings you to the doorway of therapy (telehealth portal or literal door!), my aim is to greet you with compassion, support, and insight. Together we’ll shine light onto obstacles and patterns you wish to shed, in order to help you navigate your inner/outer world with greater ease. If you struggle with stress and overwhelm, low self-esteem, relationship trouble, or depressed mood or anxiety – know that healing is possible. My approach is collaborative and individualized, focusing not merely on treating symptoms, but on supporting you as a whole person deserving of a safe space in which to feel heard and understood.

I have an integrative approach in my treatment.
Being human is a wondrous and challenging endeavor. Most of us walk around each day feeling inadequate, lost, anxious or depressed. And yet something inside us yearns for more. It takes tremendous courage to slow down and listen to this voice. To turn towards the painful feelings and try to understand them. I believe that with the right support, the hard stuff is actually the gateway to a life that is more purposeful, meaningful, integrated and peace-filled. In my office I create a warm and engaging space for clients to build self-awareness, heal old wounds and reflect on patterns that may not be helping them.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Integrative Coach who deeply believes in the healing potential of a therapeutic relationship. The people I work with are amazing human beings who have either gone through or are currently experiencing situations that have led them to disconnect from themselves to survive. These circumstances may include family-of-origin and childhood trauma, major life stressors or transitions, or relationship issues. When people work with me, they often want to explore their experiences, understand the impact on their lives, and reconnect with themselves in meaningful ways.

My clients are children, adolescents, adults and parents experiencing life stressors, struggling with relationships, striving for personal growth or seeking change. My work commonly addresses symptoms such as anxiety, depression or general difficulty functioning in one or more areas. I use an eclectic and collaborative style to best serve each client. My highly individualized and integrative approach draws from a variety of techniques depending on specific therapeutic goals and needs. When working with children and adolescents, I find it is important and most effective if I collaborate closely with their parents to support the family system and promote optimal outcomes.

I am integrative and draw on diverse theoretical and technical sources depending on the problems that you bring to treatment.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in individual and couples therapy. I have over twenty years of experience working with a wide variety of clinical problems. I am most interested in working with individuals who are curious about themselves and who believe that they may find some relief from their struggles by examining their thoughts and feelings in the context of their relational history. I work by listening deeply and reflecting with you on the meanings of the narrative you produce. I am very focused on collaboration and will check in often regarding your experience.

Integrative Therapists

What is integrative therapy?

Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.

How does integrative therapy work?

Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behavior patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.

How long does integrative therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

How effective is integrative therapy?

There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
