I helped create a TGNB specific service to support gender affirming health needs, and led the Trauma treatment and DBT treatment programs at a clinic for LGBTQ folks and their allies.
I work with clients interested in self-exploration or symptom relief. My goal is to collaborate with each client to make their therapy experience both affirming and change-oriented. I often seek a middle path with clients, to avoid all or nothing thinking - something that causes many of us to feel stuck and uncomfortable. The idea is to move closer to your values and needs while reducing anxiety, tension, stress, and dysphoria.

The most important part of therapy is the relationship between the therapist and client. I pride myself in building strong, caring therapeutic alliances. I have expertise in treating anxiety, depression, chronic illness, phobias, and PTSD. Nobody likes to admit that they need help, but sometimes it can be a life transforming opportunity.

I have been in practice for 16 years and bring you clinical expertise in trauma work, with a specialization in domestic and sexual violence, though these are not the only issues that I work with.
You've just taken the first step towards advancing your own personal growth. It can be difficult to address the painful or uncomfortable matters in our lives, but it is the only way to propel ourselves forward; to make the future stronger than the past. While the past will always play a role in shaping our future, it doesn't define it. Through counseling, we will work together to identify and overcome whatever obstacles may be in your path. With a clear mind and an empowered spirit, you'll be on your way to living a happy, healthy, and fulfilling life.

Few things are harder than struggling alone. You might be holding onto pain from your family, friends, or past relationships. Or it could feel like you're stuck inside a traumatic event that chains your life. It might feel like no one understands how deeply sad, intensely angry, or desperately helpless you feel. But you're not alone. Healing from trauma is not just a concept; it is an attainable reality. It would be an honor to be invited on your journey towards healing, reparation and building a life worth living. I believe the goal of therapy is not just to stop the suffering, but to create a sustained life of thriving and joy.

I don't want you to have to suffer alone or resort to isolating yourself in order to be safe. Post Traumatic Growth is not only possible but inevitable. I am a trauma-informed therapist who specializes in helping women regain their interpersonal power and align with their soul's purpose.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
