I treat individuals with a range of life struggles including anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, life transitions, and parent-child relational issues.
I am a Bilingual/Bicultural therapist who takes pride in working with clients of diverse backgrounds. As your therapist my goal is to work with you in a collaborative way, using a culturally humble lens and awareness that "one size does not fit all." In my practice I work with Pre-Teen/Tweens, Adolescents, and Adults in an effort towards identifying solutions that promote growth, healing and life satisfaction through use of the therapeutic relationship.

I tend to focus on life transitions, relationships, grief and loss, exploring sexuality and gender, loneliness, and complex trauma.
When we feel othered, alone, or hopeless — it's hard to ask for help. Talking to a therapist can help you feel like yourself again. I help my clients discover the root of their concerns through storytelling, reflecting on their values and desires, and understanding in what ways they’ve adapted to being in the world. Together, we create a space that feels warm, safe, and healing — and ultimately restores a sense of joy, play, and hope. We’ll learn to be curious about emotional patterns, how to communicate effectively, and develop tools to slow down when life inevitably gets overwhelming.

As your therapist, I view my role as a compassionate and informed partner on your journey, and want therapy to feel like a soft place to land throughout your week where you feel challenged, uplifted and deeply understood. I work with artists, creatives, and helper-types who feel inherently sensitive and attuned to the world around them, and are looking for a space to process emotions and address barriers that might be preventing them from living their most balanced and supported lives. I am skilled in helping adults and adolescents navigate difficulties with their mood, relationships, self-esteem, trauma, grief and life transitions.

I have developed areas of specialization around times of major identity transition: adolescence and emerging adulthood; infertility, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, perinatal loss, parenting; as well as treatment across the lifespan.
The core of my practice revolves around the reality that transitions, especially around starting, growing and managing a family can present a multitude of challenges, and that therapy can help both individuals and families develop strategies to not only cope with difficulties, but also learn to thrive. Across the life span, my expertise with issues such as attachment, anxiety, depression, trauma, and interpersonal relationships in both individual and family therapy enables my patients to identify underlying patterns, navigate transitions, and craft more satisfying experiences.

Life is beautiful, with all its ups and the unavoidable downs. The curve balls, while unexpected, are usually manageable - that is until it no longer feels that way. A person may feel empty, tired, depressed, anxious or angry (possibly all at the same time) and the world, suddenly or gradually, loses its colors. When stressful times strike us, our mind tends to recall old wounds. Once open, these wounds may present as feeling of a loss of control, anger, apathy, anxiety, depression. Healing and getting back to ourselves may feel hopeless - but it's not.

As a musician myself, I am familiar with the highs and lows of the creative process. I specialize in working with artistic people, helping them to achieve their growth potential, and to silence the self-critical thoughts and reactions to negative feedback they might receive from the outside world.I am an experienced therapist, having practiced for 25+ years. I use a developmental approach, tailoring my therapy to particular age groups - job situations, relationships, mid-life crises or physical limitations and retirement in older adults. I also specialize in working with couples with a certificate in EFCT.

I believe that treatment is most effective when the individual seeking therapy is willing to delve not only her/his conscious but unconscious thoughts and feelings. One must be as honest as possible and collaborate with me to determine what is helpful to him and what is not helpful. Psychotherapy is a process, often a long process. A willingness to persevere, in spite of difficult sessions and periods, is critical. Change is hard.
