I work in a relational and interpersonal psychodynamic framework and connect with others through the felt sense via bodily sensations, practicing mindfulness and conscious awareness in a transpersonal-spiritual approach.
As a trauma resolution therapist and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, I help humans increase their bodily awareness about who they are, why they do the things they do, and who they would like to become. I trained in Sex Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, EMDR, Art therapy, and Inner Relationship Focusing, I integrate these approaches in the gestalt. I work with people who have difficulty accessing, connecting with, and verbalizing their feelings, as well as those with low self-esteem within their relationships. All humans can reach out to me, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, Sex+, CNM, and Kink folks are welcomed with an open heart.

Welcome! I help my clients develop tools to remove obstacles that stand in the way of their happiness and prevent them from tapping into the innate wisdom that each of us possesses. I incorporate Eastern philosophy and meditation with contemporary psychology in creating an open space in which healing can unfold. My process is strongly influenced by mindfulness and cognitive behavioral approaches.

What brings people to therapy is often some form of suffering. Many times this suffering is connected to a crisis such as divorce, illness, the death of a loved one, adjustment to a new culture or loss of employment. At other moments the reasons behind our suffering are not so clear. I believe that through psychotherapy we can learn to understand ourselves and become better able to embrace all that life has to offer. Each of us has a unique story and unless we figure out how to live it we cannot find the deepest meaning in our lives.

Do you feel that past experiences have created trauma that thwart your efforts to live a truly fulfilled and happy life? Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, depression, overwhelming emotions, and shame, which can often be connected to relational, developmental, and intergenerational traumas and family of origin histories. They seek help in how to break unwanted cycles of internal conflict, self-doubt, and unhealthy relationship patterns, toward a more realized and happy life. Many have found talk therapy to be helpful, but have not been able to access deeper layers of experience that lie at the root of their struggles.

Transpersonal Therapists

How does transpersonal therapy work?

Transpersonal therapy focuses on a patient’s spirituality and meaning in life. Transpersonal therapists might borrow from Eastern traditions as well as Western psychology. They may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualization, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork to produce altered states of consciousness. The therapist helps the patient to access their consciousness and spirituality to work through difficult mental states.

How long does transpersonal therapy last?

Because the goal is to understand a person as a whole, including their spirituality, treatment can range from months to a year or beyond. While patients learn the philosophy behind transpersonal therapy during treatment, they can also practice its principles throughout life after therapy sessions have ended.

Is transpersonal therapy effective?

Patients have found success with transpersonal therapy; this method is useful in improving anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, fears, relationship problems, and other concerns. Improvements in problem areas can continue even after transpersonal therapy ends, as individuals can utilize the tools they’ve learned during treatment sessions.

What are the limitations of transpersonal therapy?

There is some research on the effectiveness of transpersonal therapy, but empirical support for this therapy approach is sparse. It does not have the robust evidence base of other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy.
