Finding a therapist is difficult, it’s scary, and it can be overwhelming – there are so many different providers just on this site! I’m here to help. I’ll work with you to closely examine your past and present experiences to better your future. I promise you that in our sessions, I will bring empathy, honesty, collaboration, and an open mind. So, how do I practice? I’m an integrative therapist – I’m trained in psychodynamic therapy, and I use tools from other treatments, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, when appropriate and to better serve you.

I believe in the holistic nature of change. Thus viewed, change isn't initiated simply by thinking healthy thoughts. These healthy thoughts need to be complemented by healthy emotions in order for us to experience the motivation to change. Very often, we are disconnected from the emotions we experience in certain situations because those emotions haven’t been respected or acknowledged within our past relationships. Consequently, we become estranged from the parts of ourselves which those emotions represent. Through the therapeutic process we may reconnect with those neglected parts of ourselves so we may feel whole again.

I am passionate about supporting my clients in creating a stronger sense of self. You may find that your choices or behaviors aren't in accordance with your goals and you often feel regret, shame, and worry. Even when you’ve taken the time to sift through societal messages and make decisions based on what feels most authentic, it can still be difficult to stand firm in this while navigating family, relationships, and careers. My work is to validate, affirm, and guide you in gaining deeper understanding of what you value and radiating who you are through action and being.

The first goal of psychotherapy is relief from distress, but it should also be about how you want to live and what you want your relationships to be. I specialize in depression and anxiety and have particular experience in working with problems around relationship difficulties, creativity and family dynamics. My approach is open and based on the uniqueness of each person. I work with you to discover how experiences have shaped the ways you see yourself and relate to others, sometimes in ways outside of your awareness.

Therapy provides opportunities for liberation - for understanding what the narrative in your life has been in order to realize what it could be. With curiosity and gentleness, we will explore experiences, relationships, patterns, and parts of your identity that feel limiting. I believe healing comes when you view yourself not as someone who needs fixing, but as someone who is complex and ever-changing and has continued to persist despite the messiness, conflict, and struggle life brings. I value transparency and see my role as that of a witness and guide as we create a space of validation, honesty, warmth, partnership, and growth.
