I strive to establish a nonjudgmental environment in which clients have a safe space to freely express themselves and receive unconditional support in return. In taking a person-centered therapeutic approach, the focus is on you and your needs as we strive together towards uncovering your reservoir of natural strengths and inner resources. Whether dealing with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationships or other issues, the building of a therapeutic relationship together can help bring relief and healing to the pain that inevitably presents itself in life.

There are times in our lives when we can use someone to talk to - someone to help us deal with challenges, help us change and grow, and help us feel better. In our sessions, I will utilize an evidenced-based approach to produce significant change and meaningful improvement. We will focus on short-term goals and solutions to challenges. Over twenty years of experience in outpatient and crisis mental health settings has honed my ability to help adults - aged 18 and up - cope with life's difficulties, such as: adjustment issues, relationship problems, loss, depression, anxiety, grief, and more.

I provide adult ADHD assessment, individual therapy, and couples therapy. If you grew up with emotionally unhealthy parents, experienced trauma, or abuse, you might know you need therapy but feel afraid of taking that first step. You might not be sure if you will be able to open up and receive the help you need. Through the work we do together, we can find a way through the stuck spaces inside so that you can allow yourself to feel intimacy in healthy relationships, know your power to make choices in your life, fully experience your positive emotions, and trust your ability to know that you are finally safe.

We started the Center for Cognitive Behavior Therapy with one mission: to help children, adolescents, and young adults live more meaningful and productive lives. Both raising a child and being one are tall orders in today’s climate. And having a psychological condition often compounds the challenges. We envision a world where youth can succeed, both in spite of their challenges and because of them; where they will develop and implement the skills to overcome their challenges; and where they believe that they can accomplish anything to which they put their minds.

I use a client centered approach to support individuals, couples, and families. Shouldn't all approaches be client centered? The short answer is YES! The term "client centered" refers to a counseling technique. It means that I welcome you into the process as the unique individual that you are. You enter the counseling relationship with your own perspective, based on your life history and relationship experiences. Using evidence-based therapeutic techniques, I will work together with you to identify the strategies that best support your specific goals for therapy with an emphasis on goal driven, cognitive-behavioral approaches.

*Accepting new clients. I specialize in working with clients to overcome depression, anxiety and relationship concerns. Communicating with our spouse, parents, children or loved ones can often be a struggle. “I didn’t say that. That’s not what I meant. You don’t understand me.” Any of these sound familiar? Developing communication skills, creating healthy boundaries in relationships and managing conflict effectively are essential skills. Empowering individuals and supporting their families during this journey is at the core of my delivery of care.

I first want to congratulate you for deciding to take this huge step! Looking for a therapist is not as easy as you would expect it to be. Sometimes the connection is missing or the vibe does not feel right, which often leads to an unsuccessful experience with therapy. Whether you are experiencing grief, or anxiety, or have been feeling in a funk lately, therapy may be the perfect outlet for you to be able to voice these worries and concerns.

The goal of therapy is not only to resolve a conflict or find an answer but to make a connection. I believe that the client drives the car of therapy while the therapist is in the passenger seat ensuring the ride is comfortable, the music is right and hazards or incomplete bridges are avoided. The brain and body should be aligned; therapy does just that. There does not always need to be a problem to go to therapy, the same way a car can use an oil change or detail before a long drive. It is hard to deal with emotional issues on your own, but more difficult to address and face them in therapy or even ask for help.
