My ideal client is one that is open to change. A client that, even if they see no way through, they trust that I am there to do all I can to help them, not just to listen, watch the clock, and end a session, but to be invested in their transformation from start to finish. My ideal client is one who is comfortable, even if not at first, celebrating themselves and not being fearful about trying again. Things aren't always successful on our first try, but my ideal client will understand this, embrace the lesson in each situation, and be willing to use what they've learned to try again.

It is hard to say what my ideal client is because I believe that I am capable of working with various types of people and that each person is unique. Even with a "challenging" client, I have learned a lot and found value in the work. With that being said, my ideal client has a history of trauma that has impacted their ability to connect with others and themselves. They are struggling with body image, intrusive thoughts, and anxiety about how others are perceiving them. They want to be empowered to advocate for themselves when necessary and create a wellness routine that serves as a preventative measure for mental health problems.

My ideal client is simply a client who is ready to make a change. No matter the presenting problem, all I need from my client is an open mind and a readiness for change.

Does perfectionism have you burnt out on life? Have you been people-pleasing so long that you don't have any idea what you like? Do you often second-guess yourself and doubt your capabilities? It is not easy to live this way, and anxiety and depression often accompany it. I can help you find your core self, give that part of you a voice, and live from that place to help you live a peaceful, joy-filled life.

My ideal client is someone who feels like their life just isn’t working - maybe they’re struggling with unresolved anxiety and depression or leaning on alcohol or marijuana a little too much to cope with everyday stressors. Maybe they’re going through a big life transition or just aren’t satisfied with their relationships. Whatever their current issues are, this person wants to feel better but doesn’t know how to get there. They are open to therapy and ready to see where it could lead them.

My ideal client is someone motivated to improve their life & well-being. They would be open to exploring various therapeutic techniques and strategies to better help them understand their issues, whether it be communication, relationships, anxiety, or depression. My ideal client would be motivated to achieve better for themselves. They could be coming for anxiety, issues in relationships, or a stressful life event. They would be choosing to focus on themselves, what they need, and seeking help. They may be struggling with negative self-thoughts and emotional regulation or simply need guidance in how to identify and verbalize their feelings. Their goals for therapy would be to process their thoughts and emotions while developing long-term skills to use in the future.

My ideal clients are people who have been unable to find someone they can pull back the veil covering their heart because of past betrayals, lack of trust, cultural roadblocks, or some other barrier that keeps the true source of their burden hidden. You are looking for a space where you can be honest, not with me, but with yourself. You're looking for someone who can listen without judgment and accompany you on your healing journey. You are seeking someone to either walk with you through your journey and hold you accountable for the goals you set for yourself or for someone who can simply listen with an open mind.

Common feelings like "I don’t feel heard” or “I can’t seem to do anything right” are expressed by the couples I work with. Individual clients feel overwhelmed and stressed, “My life is changing dramatically and I’m not sure what to do next.”

My ideal client is one who is willing to explore uncomfortable areas in their life and understand that vulnerability is part of the process. One of the most important parts of therapy to me is highlighting accountability and what roles we play in our own lives. I enjoy working with clients who are struggling with relationship issues, self-esteem, irrational thinking, and life adjustments. A client who can pinpoint what they would like to improve in their life and request a little bit of guidance along the way is an ideal client. Their goal is not to be perfect but to improve their day-to-day life a little more each day.

My ideal client has a desire to heal and change their life. They must approach the counseling journey with openness and curiosity. It does not matter what issues or needs they bring to me because together, we can make magic happen and their goals and desires come to fruition. The most important thing is again that willingness and desire to change.

My ideal client needs help with the services I specialize in. I typically consider the client's current habits and strengths to guide us on where to start goal setting. Showing up to therapy is a huge step, and I commend any client who takes that initiative.
