I support people and their family members to positively navigate their way through the inevitable challenges of life, love, family/parenting, work, and self exploration. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist working with children, adolsecents, adults, couples and families. My goal is to help clients to identify and meet their clinical goals, to have a better understanding of themselves, and to improve their relationships with the significant people in their lives.

I am the owner and a primary therapist in my practice, Premier Counseling Services (PCS). I have been practicing clinical social work for 14 years. I use a variety of treatment techniques and interventions, but they are all built upon a safe, and trusting therapeutic relationship. I have experience working with all age groups with a special focus in the treatment of depression, anxiety, self-esteem building, family/marital relationships and infertility counseling. It takes courage to ask for help, and I believe the best therapy includes client/therapist collaboration and using your strengths to address your areas of concern.

Valerie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fairfield University and a BS in Psychology from Union College. Valerie currently works as the Survivor Care Navigator for the town of Newtown. Previously, she worked at Liberation Programs. Valerie also volunteered for the Danbury Women's Center as a Domestic Abuse hotline Counselor. In both her family of origin and her home community of Sandy Hook, Valerie has witnessed and experienced the devastating results of trauma. She views trauma though a systemic lens and understands the importance of working with the entire family when focusing on recovery.

I love being a social worker and I enjoy working in the field of mental health and addiction services. I believe that anyone could develop a mental health or substance abuse problem, and that all intimate relationships have periods of struggles. It can be challenging to overcome your problems.
