With over a decade of telethealth experience (long before COVID-19 led to an increase in telehealth), and with most of our practitioners having 1-2 decades or more of experience, our practice is ready to tackle some of the most complex challenges you can bring us. We're currently taking clients for diagnostic evaluations, couples, & group therapy.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with years of experience working in different settings and a variety of concerns that people have come to me with.

Anxiety and Depression are the most common reasons people seek help. Life transitions such as divorce, custody issues, behavioral problems, are some of the other issues. Besides having over 20 years in private practice I have had many life experiences that provide insight and help me to encourage clients to feel safe expressing their feelings and talking about the problems that brought them in for therapy. I try to maintain an atmosphere that is welcoming and relaxing for my clients.

The majority of my clients are young adult females looking to understand what’s wrong with them… dating life, home life, work life… it all seems too overwhelming and there are more questions than answers. Sue Ellen Daniels, LMFT has been in the field of mental health for 40 years. She has worked with individuals, families, couples and run various types of group therapies. She worked 8 years as a school based clinician, introducing family therapy in the New London elementary schools from 1999-2004. Also 18 years in New London and Middlesex Counties. She has owned Connections Counseling Center for 14 years.

I am an experienced, engaging therapist who brings warmth, humor, creativity, hope, and compassion into my practice. I am dedicated to helping rebuild, strengthen, and empower individuals and families who have felt lost or been hit by life's challenges. I have extensive experience in working with young individuals and families who have experienced significant loss or trauma, including physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. I specialize in early childhood, attachment, developmental/ behavioral issues, trauma in infancy/ early childhood, issues around adoption, and in helping parents develop insight and understanding into their child's behavior and experiences.

***NOT ACCEPTING NEW CHILD/ADOLESCENT CLIENTS*** I'm a charismatic, dynamic, and dedicated therapist who offers individual, family, and group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. In addition to "traditional" therapy, I also offer EMDR therapy - an effective, evidence-based treatment for patients with a history of trauma. My experience as an Emergency Crisis Intervention Clinician has enhanced my ability to rapidly engage with clients, develop immediate treatment and safety plans, increase clients' coping skills, conduct risk assessments as needed, and provide psychoeducation and advocacy.
