I support young adults and adults through stressful life events and transitions with the objective of regaining a sense of self, finding clarity amidst uncertainty, and learning healthy ways to cope with stress and anxiety that allow you to move forward with confidence and purpose. Our mission at the Athlete's Resource is to support athletes in the challenges they face throughout their career. For athletes recovering from sport injury, we collaborate with outside providers (i.e., physical therapists, athletic trainers, etc.) to support and guide athletes through emotional and behavioral aspects of their recovery. We teach athletes skills to increase motivation, concentration, and confidence to optimize their mindset for play. For athletes transitioning out of sport we provide education on what athletes can expect, coping strategies, and a space to process the losses associated with this transition.

I’m a counselor who takes a playful, interpersonal, brain-based approach to helping children and families overcome challenges. I want to help children and families find the skills they need to manage the physiological effects of stress in challenging moments. I believe that parent involvement is the most significant driving force in helping children better manage big emotions. I take a collaborative approach in working with parents and children. Together, we will explore the underlying challenges that are impacting behavior, rather than focusing on behavior alone.

I have experience with working with children as young as 3, families, adolescents and adults. I have worked extensively with families involved in the DCF system. I've worked with individuals with special needs and adolescent and adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, mood disorders and PTSD, across the State of Connecticut , and within a group home setting, and I hold a certification in TF-CBT. I enjoy being creative and assisting my clients in building coping skills, and I feel very lucky to work with each client that I meet. I also enjoy facilitating groups and am a certified Mental Health First Aid instructor.

I enjoy helping people do their deeper therapeutic work. I've been in practice for over 30 years, and it continues to feel like a privilege to play the role I do in people’s lives. By day, I support adolescents managing acute crises in my role as a high school Triage Clinician. By night, I turn my attention to adults, who have moved beyond a period of acute crisis and reached a point of stabilization. Many people live their lives with the effects of trauma, and often feel stuck when they try to make powerful transitions or internalize positive changes.
