I believe that therapy can be effective in helping those that suffer from addiction. I have worked in in detox, outpatient and residential treatment. It is essential in treating people affected by this malady to understand the nature of the problem involved in treating this condition. Addiction does not exist in a vacuum. Recognizing and treating other problems, trauma, anxiety and depression, and the relationship between those problems and addiction, is necessary for successful treatment. I am extensively trained in trauma therapies, including Accelerated Resolution Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
