Accepting New Patients! My approach as a psychotherapist is to work as a consultant to you, facilitating your intention and effort to live the best life you have envisioned for yourself. This will include exploring personal impediments and challenges to this goal and promoting your unique strengths and resources. My attention is directed to the whole person, incorporating an appreciation for the dimensions of "knowing" that reside in the experience of intellect, physical being, emotion, and the spirit. I am warm, empathic, interactive and professional, and fully respect each person's individual life circumstance and process.

We are living in "complex times." We have heard this a great deal recently, but what do you do with that when already feeling overwhelmed? We may not realize it, but we are influenced daily by our own psychology. We sometimes deal with it, sometimes it deals with us. Life isn't getting less complex, and that is exactly why now is the perfect time to begin to actively manage your own psychological health. Let's explore what that looks like for you, together.

I have 15+ years experience working with clients with anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem, as well as those having difficulty dealing with a high level of stress in their life. I like to help clients problem-solve and navigate their way through life’s challenges, that often seem overwhelming. Relationship issues, and family dynamic issues, including dealing with family substance abuse are among the issues I can help you work through. I can support you in areas such as chronic illness, grief and loss, and loneliness. I also have experience with single parent issues, and those managing a divorce or other major life transition.

Most people with emotional disorders such as OCD, anxiety and depression suffer for years before getting the help they deserve. As a Harvard-trained clinical psychologist, I specialize in treating emotional disorders with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). CBT is the gold standard treatment for OCD and related disorders (e.g., BDD, hair-pulling, skin-picking), anxiety (e.g., social, panic, phobias, GAD), and depression.

Hello and welcome. Taking the first step towards counseling is a scary endeavor but also can be an enlightening one. I strive to be a facilitator in your work, guiding you in the direction you feel you would like to move to improve the things you want to change most in your life, whether that be relationships, career goals, freedom from depressive and anxiety ridden thoughts, or managing life in today's busy environment. I love forming relationships with clients and bearing witness to changes. I have been working as a psychotherapist for the past 20 years, working with individuals who are young adults , up until older adulthood.

I believe it takes a village to raise a family, work, get a higher education; but for some of us, we don't have a village. We don't have support from the people in our lives that should be there to support us when we need it. This lack of support can make us feel isolated, misunderstood, stuck; and for those of us suffering from additional stressors such as mental health concerns, anxiety, depression, lack of work, grief, chronic illness, relationship problems, it can feel very lonely.

I have helped clients experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, and those learning to manage their mental health symptoms. When life can feel overwhelming and we are not sure how to cope, I believe that therapy can help to provide us with the tools we need to manage our stress and our mental health symptoms. These skills can also better equip us to do the work of processing past trauma and working through family of origin issues. I believe you are the expert when it comes to your work and healing.

Growing up, I promised myself I would live up to the meaning of my name, light. I figured the best way I could achieve this goal is simply by helping others, so I became a therapist. I would like to guide others to find the light within themselves, each other, and/or pertaining to their situation to alleviate emotional burden and conquer personal challenges. I have experience working with individuals who struggle with addiction, mental disorders, trauma, and major stressors. I invite anyone to be welcomed into a safe space where they are the experts in their life.
