She has always had a passion for psychology and the study of human nature, and received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology before completing her nursing degree. She sees the role of a psychiatric nurse practitioner as a bridge between psychology and medicine. Her approach involves treating each person spiritually, mentally, and physically through pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments.
