Dr. Embrey is an integrative and holistic child and adult psychiatrist in Washington DC. She is also seeing patients in Virginia, Maryland, and Wisconsin (virtually). Having trained at Johns Hopkins, she treats psychiatric illnesses with an approach that involves evaluation and treatment via traditional psychiatric methods, medications, and therapy. She also includes an assessment of how complementary interventions may be helpful toward finding mental, emotional, and spiritual balance and vitality.

As a psychiatric provider, my primary focus is medication management. If you are looking for a personal, compassionate touch, that is my specialty. When struggling with our mental health, combining medication and therapy has been shown to be the most effective approach. While medication can be an important part of recovery and staying well, it is only one piece of the puzzle. I strive to combine medication management with individual therapy in such a way that it allows patients and family to feel heard, validated and comfortable in a non-judgmental space.
