Dr. Aguirre is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist who opened his practice, Park Valley Behavioral Health Care in 1999 and has provided the Wheeling area with mental health services for 20 years. Dr. Aguirre attended medical school at Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University, completed his psychiatric residency at Illinois State Psychiatric Institute, and pursued a fellowship in child psychiatry at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of Pittsburgh. With over 40 years of experience in psychiatry, Dr. Aguirre has worked in a variety of settings including inpatient and outpatient, as well as residential and correction facilities.

Dr. Thistlethwaite is a board eligible adult psychiatrist and internal medicine physician. He completed his medical education and West Virginia University School of Medicine. Following completion of medical school Dr. Thistlethwaite completed residency training at WVU/Charleston Area Medical Center with a dual specialization in internal medicine and psychiatry. Dr. Thistlethwaite’s training included treatment of patients both in the inpatient and outpatient setting as well as management of patients with comorbid medical conditions.

I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who sees children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. Having been in the nursing field for over 25 years, I have a passion for others and the struggles that come along with life's challenges. I graduated with my Associate's degree in 2010. Prior to obtaining my nurse practitioner license in 2020 I spent most of my nursing career working in the mental health field. I have worked in acute crisis settings, outpatient settings, inpatient settings and with populations that include: severely mentally ill, forensics, dual diagnostic, substance abuse, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. This experience has been invaluable to me in my role as a provider, enabling me to interact comfortably with individuals of all ages and needs.
